Unzip Chief2k2.zipFS2002 Aeronca Chief 11AC (circa 1946)

This project was inspired by Yannick Lavigne's beautiful Chief panel and the receipt of some excellent drawings courtesy of Roger Clarke and Felix Rodriguez (aka Inspector Poly). Many Thanks to each of you.
The Chief shared many components with the 7AC champion and was basically a side-by-side version of it. It was a contemporary of the Cub J-3 and several Taylorcrafts. All these planes used the reliable Continetal 65 hp engine and were of similar performance. The Chief was a little more luxurious and was produced well into the era of the Cessna 120' s and 140's. There are many still flyable and the owners are very loyal; a look at "Aeronca" with any search engine will find many sites describing the loving restoration of many examples. It is a true vintage "Put-Put"! This project was produced with FSDS for FS2002 and has not been tested in any other sim.

INSTALLATION: Unzip Chief2k2.zip into a temporary folder.Copy the contents of the gauges folder into the Gauges folder in FS2002. Copy the folder AerChief into the Aircraft folder of FS2002. This plane will show up under Aeronca as Aeronca 11AC in the aircraft selection list in FS2002.

PANEL: I have included Yannick Lavigne's beautiful Chief panel. His readme and one of the gauge designer's readme's is included in the gauge folder, as requested.

SOUND: I aliased the C182 sounds but I suggest you substitute Aaron Swindle's cub sound file cub2x2sn.zip available at www.SurClaro. This is the best 65 hp Continental sound I've heard so far.

LEGAL: This project is released as freeware. You may modify it, repaint it, etc., upload to another website as long as it is not for profit. You need my written permission to use any of these files for commercial purposes; otherwise just give me credit for the original design. This airplane should not hurt your computer but I am not responsible if it causes problems.

Enjoy, Paul Clawson
