Finger Lakes V2 high resolution 30m mesh for FS2002

Highly detailed 30m terrain mesh scenery for the area covering the Finger Lakes area of New York State. Made from 7.5 minute USGS DEMS at LOD10. Version expands the area covered in all directions and was made using the latest USGS data available.

Mesh covers NorthLat = 43.5
SouthLat = 42.0
EastLong = -76.0
WestLong = -78.5

This scenery works well added onto existing 150m or 75m mesh scenery and can be used with the default FS2002 scenery also.

It should work well in FS2002 as well as FS2000. I have only tested it using FS2002 however.

Known problems: Many cliffs are present and there is no way to correct the coastal polygons at this time.

To Install:

Place the *.bgl file into the scenery subfolder of the ..\scenedb\world folder within your flight simulator installation.

You may create a dedicated folder and install the mesh using the add scenery widget of FS2002.

This mesh scenery was made using tools from the Microsoft Terrain SDK and the following programs:

Microdem
Hypercube

Special thanks to Orlando Sotomayer for assistance in creating mesh scenery.

Orlando spent much time exchanging notes with me back in 2000 as we worked on figuring out how to use 7.5 minute DEMs for mesh scenery in FS2K and he has been a great help and inspiration in developing this new scenery for FS2002.

Thanks also to Justin Tyme of www.fsgenesis.com for "trade secrets" making it much easier to create high res mesh.
