The airport is located south of the city of Thessaloniki, the second largest city and "co-capital" of Greece. The city was founded in 315 b.c. at the sites of the ancient city of Thermes (after which the nearby gulf -Thermaikos Kolpos- was named) by Kassandros, the Macedonian General and heir to the throne, who named the city Thessaloniki after his wife's name (the sister of King Anlexander the Great). The city itself will constitute a separate scenery package, still under construction for FS2002.
The Gulf of Thermaikos is located to the west of the airport. To the NE there is the Sedes Military Airbase and beyond that, along the same direction there lies Mt. Hortiatis (1201m). To the South and SE there are hills with housing developments such as Kardia, Trilofos and Plagiari. To the southwest of the airport there lie the housing developments of Peraia, Neoi Epivates, Mihaniona, all fully incorporated in the scenery.
The road that leads from the city to the airport, through these housing developments, is also included in the scenery. This road runs to the south-southwest from the city and circles around the airport area from the mainland side.

Makedonia.zip...............Contains the airport scenery and graphics and is ready to be placed inside the FS2000 Scenery folder
FSTexture.zip..............Contains the original concrete runways bmp file for the FS, re-coloured, so that it visually blends better with the tyre skid marks.
LGTS english read me.txt............The present file with instructions in english.
Ïäçãßåò.txt.................A file with instructions in Greek.
Installation instructions

1.Unzip Makedonia.zip directly into the FS2000 Scenery folder.
2.Unzip FSTexture.zip in the FS Textures folder.
3.Start FS2000 and go to Scenery Library. Add the new area under the name Makedonia.
4.Exit FS2000 and open the Scenery.cfg file, located in the FS2000 main folder.
5.Locate the "Makedonia" layer towards the last lines of this file and copy-paste the following lines:
If you have NAVAIDS by Kyprianos Biris already installed (grnav2kb.zip) you have to DELETE the following files from their folder or from wherever inside the FS2000 Scenery folder you have them installed:

The scenery was designed on a Pentium III 550 ,256 mb Ram, GeForce 256 32 mb...
and runs at 8-14 f/sec on this machine. Nearly all the usual scenery design programmes were used and special care was taken to avoid heavy loading of the processing and image displaying power. In order to enjoy the scenery's full content on the simulator, please set Display Settings-->image quality to "extremely dense".
