FSX Vickers Viking

Version 1.0 December 2010.

This is for FSX; FS2004 users should download Viking_10.zip instead.

By Jens B. Kristensen.

A completely new model of the Vickers Viking, a British airliner of the
immediate postwar years. The Viking served with BEA and many other airlines
until the middle of the 1960's.

Three variants (Viking 1A, 1 and 1B) with textures for BEA (three variants),
SAS, DDL, Airwork, BWIA and Indian National Airways are included.

For more details and flying instructions, please see the
pdf document installed in the JBK Vickers Viking 1B\Documentation folder.

----

*To install for Flight Simulator X:

Just run the included setup program.

----

Sounds:

The Douglas DC-3 sounds are used, but I recommend you download Gary Jones'
Viking/Varsity Sound package from classicbritishfiles.com

----

Gauges:

The gauges are to some extent based on default gauges of Flight
Simulator FSX or FS2004, most of them modified by me.
Other gauges are by myself.

The ILS indicator is based on xml code by
Saviero Maurri (Vickers Varsity panel), bitmaps by me.

A number of gauges (mostly switches) are, with permission from
Tom Gibson, www.calclassic.com, based on work by Tom himself,
Kevin Trinkle, Ernie Kennedy and Ken 'Mitch' Mitchell.

Finally, a big 'thank you' to Hans-Joerg Naegele, who gave
me permission to use gauges from his Lockheed 049 Constellation
panel (VNConnie049.cab), directly or modified.

----

This plane was made with FSDS 3.5.1, the textures with Paint Shop Pro and DxtBmp.

It is freeware and must stay that way.

I hope you like flying the Viking!
