FSX Dash-8-300 2D panel.

XML gauges of which many newly built by the author.
Panel built on the Dash8 modified by Eric Buchmann for FSX and based on the works by Barry Blaisdell and Bob May - see "fsxpadd8.zip".

Can be operated with FS2004 :
- Just replace the text of panel.cfg by the text in panel2004.cfg
- Verify the aircradft.cfg : see below
- Some AP actions have to be adapted - later (Speed hold mainly)

===========================================================================================
Bitmap panel : Design from photographs by Renato Burkhart with his kind authorization - see also www.Airliners.net

About the gauges :

Most of the gauges are home made (and better than some ones built before ... ; - ))
Some come from FS9 and adapted (VSI, Altimeter, DME) or not (Attitude, HSI and clock/temp).

Sorry, Attitude and HSI are working well but simply copied from KingAir and are not realistic - may be a next job ?

cpt.toggles.king by Jorge Salas - a way to contact him to thank him for that useful job ???

About the aircraft.cfg file, please verify or add

[Radios]
// Radio Type = availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1= 1
Com.1= 1, 1
Com.2= 1, 1
Nav.1= 1, 1, 1
Nav.2= 1, 1, 0
Adf.1= 1
Transponder.1= 1
Marker.1= 1

[autopilot]
// many actions working (HDG, ALT, Speed, VSI, NAV, APP, YAW, WLV) some other not - and are not really necessary (Auto, BC, LOC)
autopilot_available= 1
flight_director_available= 1
default_vertical_speed= 1000.0 or around
autothrottle_available= 1 but not working ?!?
autothrottle_arming_required= 0
autothrottle_max_rpm=1500 WHY ???
....
yaw_damper_gain=0.500000
....
nav.................=3.00000 or ... but greater than 0 !

and may be some other expressions (sorry I'm not sure about all)

=================================================================================

Failures : the more evident (general electrical, engine, avionics) are operative.

=================================================================================
Starting the engines - it seems there are so many different ways !!! - not sure this one is like real but it is simple and it works
Batt
Ctl Shift F3 (±12x)
Ctl F4 (theoretically)
Starter left
...
Gen left
Starter left OFF

The same for right engine and then Batt OFF

==================================================================================
Reminder : elevating view over the dashboard : Ctl+Q
descending seat view : Shift+Ctl+Q
zero view : Ctl+Space or Num "8"

Also : use the POV Hat and in the file C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX\camera.cfg, in the section [CameraDefinition.001]: modify PanPbhAdjust=Swivel and PanPbhReturn=False.

Installation :

Unzip the files in a temporary file (you will erase it when everything OK) and copy them as followed :

The gauge file "FP_Dash8.cab" would be in the "Gauges" folder - as it is, don't unzip it .
The folder "Panel.FP" must be in your FSX directory X:\...\SimObjects\Airplanes\Choosenairplane

Declare the panel in the "aircraft.cfg" file of the "Choosenairplane" :

Add the following text below the group [fltsim.x] if x was the last declaration

[fltsim.x+1]
title=as you want but to be recognized easily
sim=as found in [fltsim.x]
model= copy from [fltsim.x] or let it blank
panel=FP
sound= copy from [fltsim.x] or let it blank
texture= copy from [fltsim.x] or let it blank
...
ui_variation=any personnal identification [different of other/default to let the avatar be seen in the catalog !]
...
all others items = copy from [fltsim.x] or let it blank or modify as you can recognize all info.

For FS2004 : quite similar but panel.FP to be droped in directory X:\FS9\Aircraft\Choosenairplane

License :

As usual: enjoy it, copy it, give it, speak about it but don't make money with it !

If any trouble, complain or idea in your mind about this work - especially about the working of the gauges in comparison with the real instruments - please report it to :
