1. Introduction:
=====================

This is an addon to the updated photoreal city part of the 'Wellington Airport And City' scenery released by Ian Warren, Jon Murchison, James Eden and Robin Corn.
I am not affiliated in any way with windowlight or the design of the original scenery and this addon is purely a third party project. I have, however, contacted both Robin Corn (copyright holder) and Ian Warren (main autogen designer) and obtained their blessing to carry out this project.

The original scenery and the update may be obtained from www.SurClaro.com as: -
NZWN_04V1.ZIP and WGTNCITY2.ZIP

These 2 files are a requirement prior to using this package.

My own personal recollections of Wellington from times I have visited is that it is a very green city and this package aims to re-create that with the use of many trees rather than the small shrubberies. This package is to my own personal liking, however the user is welcome to load up annotator and alter tree types and heights to thier own liking if they so desire.

2. What's Included In This Package:
========================================

AUTOGEN
This package will replace the existing autogen that was released with the above packages and furthermore it will include autogen for the rest of the area that was not completed.

EXTENDED FS2004 AUTOGEN OBJECTS
I have added many extended autogen objects including ships, cranes, petroleum tanks and the wind turbine off Ashton Fitchett Dr in Brooklyn.

BEEHIVE AND WESTPAC STADIUM
I have modeled 2 further iconic buildings, the Beehive and the Westpac Stadium (Cake Tin), which are included in this addon package. These are fully textured and include night maps.

CHRISTIAN STOCK'S WELLINGTON CITY BUILDINGS FOR FS2002
Christian has very kindly given me permission to redistribute his Wellington building package which includes 5 notable buildings:- BNZ, Mobil, Majestic, Telstra and IBM.

UPDATE TO CHRITSTIAN STOCK'S WELLINGTON CITY BUILDINGS FOR FS2002
I have completed the night mapping for the Majestic Towers building and the Mobil building which were not completed as part of Christian's original release

REPLACEMENT AF2_NZWN.BGL FILE
Trevor Golding has re-worked the original AF2 file with a better result regarding the size and type of aircraft relative to the ramps and gates they can park at. This is purely optional and the user is encouraged to try / compare each and then decide which they prefer. For further information on this feature please read the readme in the folder where this file is located as part of this package.

3. Disclaimer On Accuracy Regarding Autogen Placement:
===========================================================

As with any autogen project it is difficult to achieve a complete overall compliment of buildings due to restrictions regarding the amount of building footprint area and the number of individual trees that the simulator allows to be seen in each AGN file. This scenery has proved to be particularly tricky due to the fact it has been created with colourised black and white aerials where crispness and texture definition is a bit fuzzy in places. I've tried my best to create as realistic urban sprawl with dense housing etc but also spreading these around as best I can so there are no blank spots created by too much in any one small area.

NOTE REGARDING AREA SURROUNDING WELLINGTON AIRPORT:
It appears that the Wellington Airport has a rather large exclude zone around it which is preventing autogen from showing in this immediate area. This is not an unfinished are it's just that the autogen doesn't show becuase it's being excluded. Unfortunately I cannot do anything about this.

For the above reasons I offer no claim of exact accuracy for this scenery release.

As always the users of this package have the power to decide if they like it and wish to use it or to delete it from thier system if it does not meet thier individual needs.

4. Installation:
=====================

Users of this package will need to have ALREADY installed the original Wellington scenery and it's update.

Place the files contained in the 'wellington\scenery' folder to the 'scenery' folder of your already installed Wellington scenery.

Place the files contained in the 'wellington\texture' folder to the 'texture' folder of your already installed Wellington scenery.

If you wish to also use Christian's building package then unzip it to a temporary location and them move the files into the 'scenery' and 'texture' folders of your already installed Wellington Scenery. Further instructions for Christian's package are located in the sub-directory where his zip is stored in this package.

Advice regarding the Wellington Update:

If you are reading this before installing the update (WGTNCITY2.ZIP) then the following advice may be of interest.
I note that the installer for the update attempts to clean your original install folder of some localised re-worked meshes that were part of the original releae. One of the main reasons for the update was to make the scenery fit with the new mesh and therefore some of the original files are no longer required. I tried several times but found that the "cleaning process" failed each time. If this happens then you will need to manually delete the older now redundant files.

The files it was attempting to delete were:
huttvalley.bgl
r27c.bgl
S41E174_S42E176.bgl
somes_2.bgl
wgtnremesh_2.bgl

If any of these files have remained after you installed the update then the scenery may not look like it was intended to and you should deleted these files leaving wgtnbig.bgl plus the files from this package.

5. Usage:
==============

To get maximum effect out of the autogen in this scenery it is recommended that in the display settings that you have the autogen density set as far as it will go. This will show every autogen object. However if your machine cannot cope with this level of density then start reducing it til you reach a happy balance.
