The default textures for Ireland are disappointing. Where are the green fields, the towns, the golf courses? When EZ-Landclass became available, I decided to restore Ireland to 40 shades of green. This is a reasonable attempt to replace the default textures with fields, villages, towns, forests, the Burren, and golf courses, and I think the result is quite satisfactory.
I've covered the entire island of Ireland. Following the road system (I use FSRoads, UK & Ireland, highly recommended), I have placed most of the major towns. Since I live in Cork, I've given the city a bit of special attention: building cranes, ships in the harbour, Whitegate oil refinery, Roches Point lighthouse, the Old Head of Kinsale lighthouse and golf course, etc.
To install, simply put the enclosed bgl files into the ..Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\scenery folder:
Make sure Addon Scenery is active in your Scenery Library. That's it! Start FS9 and go to Cork Airport and have a look around - then enjoy the rest of the country. To uninstall, simply remove the files.
I also recommend IFSD Irish Scenery, which updates our major airports (download available at http://www.ifsd.ie). My texture files are compatible with this scenery.
