LOCKHEED ALTAIR PANEL for LADY SOUTHERN CROSS
==================================================
Tested and flown in 1024 x 768 by Eric W Davis, on a p4 2.53 mhz with 500 mb ram and a 128 mb Nvidia Riva TI-4200 card, on a 17" monitor, using WinXp Pro. My frame rate runs about 30 plus, yours may be slower.

At 16 December 2004 The file ALTAIR.zip is available from SurClaro; .com; and Simviation.com.

------------------------------
ABOUT THIS PANEL It is made for FS2004 only, and tested in WinXp Pro. There is no VC panel.
------------------------------
This bitmap (my 3rd attempt) is the best I can come up with from a photo of a Sirius panel. Apparently any cockpit photographs of "The Lady Southern Cross" panel have not surfaced as yet. See credits.

TO INSTALL THE PANEL
------------------------------------ NOTE:- In FS2004 YOU CAN KEEP THE GAUGES IN THE PANEL FOLDER. They do not have to go into the gauges folder. Personally I think this is the best feature of FS2004.
Find the aircraft which will use this panel. Rename the existing panel folder to ORIGpanel, thus:- Lockheed Altair\ORIGpanel.

Then unzip my file to a temp folder. Copy the panel folder to your aircraft:- Lockheed Altair\<-----(panel goes here). Open the gauge folder and copy the gauges to your main gauge folder under FS2004, thus:- FS2004\Gauges, or copy them to your new Altair panel folder, your choice.

Tim Conrad advises to install the GaugeSound.dll as his Easygauge program says it is necessary. Copy the GaugeSound.dll file into your FS2004 Main Folder. SIM MAY CRASH IF NOT INSTALLED!
I only have a problem when I try to go to full screen. After I installed GaugeSound.dll this problem went away.

Last, go to the De Havilland Comet panel folder and copy the DeHavilland_Comet.cab gauge file to your FS9 main gauge folder. This is so the gear lights and handle work. If you have the Altair loaded, you should have already done this.

HOW TO USE THIS PANEL [ Shift key plus number key; NOT numpad key ]
-------------------------------------
Shift+1 toggles the GPS panel. Shift+2 toggles the RADIO. Shift+3 toggles the AUTO-PILOT.
Or mouse the panel icons. The collective icon toggles the auto pilot gauge.

GAUGES
-------------
I have checked the gauge properties and renamed all gauges to what appear to be their correct names.
All gauges pre-fixed with PK have been modified by me to have night lighting. See credits.

CREDITS AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
--------------------------------------------------------
1) Brian Kostik owns gauges 01,02,11,13,24,27,28,29. Thanks for the use of your gauges. My email was returned.

4) Gauges 03,04,05,06,07,09,12,16,17,18,26. These are all by FreeWare gauge designers. Thanks to them.

5) Chuck Dome, for his MakePink program, mkpink11.zip. This adds lighting to gauges.

6) Tim Kalina, who supplied me with photographs of "Lady Southern Cross" and various panels.

7) Paul Clawson, who agreed to make the Altair, and came up with a way for me to make the views. He has made a lovely job of this aircraft, which is a part of Australian Aviation History. I do not believe that it has been simulated before.

8) Thanks to Microsoft who own the copywrite on the rest of the gauges!!

NOTE:- The panel and view bitmap files belong to me and my cat.

I hope I have not missed anyone, but if so, I do apologise.

To learn much more:- Please visit www.adastron.com, and read "The Lockheed Files". They have a huge amount of information on the Lockheed Altair - "Lady Southern Cross", together with excellent photographs supplied by Tim Kalina.
The way in is:-www.adastron.com\ The Cuskelly Home Page \The Lockheed File \ Altair.

Smithy's more famous Southern Cross "The Old Bus", as he called it, VH-USU is available at SurClaro as SCROSS.zip.
