ABOUT THE AIRPORT:

Half Moon Bay Airport was built in 1943 by Cal Trans for the U.S. Army Air Corp. Designed to be part of the coastal protection network during World War II, the airport was deeded to San Mateo County in 1950. Some time after, the airport was actually used by some airlines as an alternate to SFO. Today large aircraft (greater than 12,500 pounds) are prohibited without prior approval. For small aircraft, however, Half Moon Bay Airport is a beautiful link in the chain of GA Airports located along the California coastline.

ABOUT THE SCENERY:

This scenery is not accurate at all. It is strictly from my imagination. Working from limited resources, I came up with this rendition of Half Moon Bay. I did this because I wanted more GA airports to play around with. I became familiar with Half Moon Bay early on with FS and with other flight simulators who used California as their base of operations. I may consider adding on to this scenery later, but right now, just enjoy and have fun with this GA airport. Do not forget to download and install the required add-ons. Traffic Tools, AFCAD2, ASDv2.1 textures, along with Nova and Nova Gold textures. This time I also used some textures from NovaSim by Rafael Garcia Sanchez. You can get the textures from his web site www.fsnova.com. Look under "About Novasim". Click download to get the texture files.
There is one texture I used but I forgot where it came from, so I am including it in this download. It is the Chevron sign for the fuel depot tank.

NON-DEFAULT AIRCRAFT:

This scenery contains more non-default aircraft for the startup and air traffic. Below is the list of aircraft used. Remember that the AC# I used may have to be changed to the numbers you use.

AC# Type Zip File
1 Beechcraft Baron 58 Default
2 Beechcraft King Air 350 Default
178 Beechcraft King Air C90B kac90b.zip
179 Beechcraft Beech 18 b18g2k2.zip/b18gfix.zip
180 Beechcraft Starship sstarshp.zip/starfix.zip
181 Adam A500 a500.zip
188 Diamond Katana DA-20 search SurClaro
189 Grumman G21 Goose sgoose2.zip
191 Maule MT7-260 Tricycle search SurClaro
193 Pilatus PC-12 pc12comb.zip
197 Rockwell Aero Commander AC520 ac520vc9.zip

I used the Beechcraft King Air C90B for the startup aircraft. Of course, if you do not like the aircraft in the list, you are free to use any type aircraft you desire.

INSTALLATION:

AFTER UNZIPPING THE FILE KHAF_V1.ZIP TO A TEMPORARY FOLDER, HOPEFULLY, YOU ARE READING THIS README FILE.

Download Lee Swordy's Traffic Tools v2x and AFCAD2. Follow the instructions from the files and install them onto your system. While you're at it, download the texture files and put them into the main FS texture folder.

Using the folders switch, unzip the file khaf_scen.zip to the drive where you have your FS. Using your file manager (Windows Explorer) check to make sure that all the files are in their proper folder.

C:\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files should have CA - Half Moon Bay FLT and WX files
Drive:\FS2004\Addon Scenery\scenery should have AF2_KHAF.bgl
Drive:\FS2004\Scenery\World\scenery should have TrafficHalfMoonBay.bgl
Drive:\fs2k4_scenery\KHAF\scenery should have the *.bgl scenery files
Drive:\FS2004\Texture should have the chevron.r8 texture

You should be ready to fly. Happy landings!
