Painters comments:
Thanks for downloading my America West Old repaint of the 737-200.

I would like to thank my family for putting up with me while I was learning how to paint and then taking all that time to paint so many aircraft.

Regards,
Steve Drabek

These are textures only! Please get the aircraft from:
http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/sunchaser

You'll have to use the one of the existing aircraft at this site, replacing the files in the texture folder with the ones in this package. Then modify the aircraft.cfg file as necessary.

OVERVIEW:

We started the 737-500 project about two years ago with FS2000 and FSDS1. The project has since become GMax and been schanged to span the entire 737 Classic family from the -300 to the -500. In fact, we later decided to do all of the 737's over the next year or so. So, this initial release is the 737 Classic family - the -300/400/500. Also available at the download page (link at the end) are the CFM56-3 sounds which where recorded from a myriad of 737's, namely United 737-522's, JAT 737-300's, and even an Air France -500 (many thanks to Nils Alegren). IF YOU WISH TO MAKE THE SOUNDS QUIETER (And thus unrealistic, if you wanted to hear ATC in a real 737 cockpit, you'd be hard pressed to do it without your headset, and this sound set captures precisely what unprotected ears hear), ADJUST ENGINE VOLUME IN FS. DO NOT EMAIL ME REGARDING VOLUME LEVELS. I WILL IGNORE THEM. All models feature fullanimation of all parts, including three special ones.

DOORS: Shift+E opens the main cabin door, as it does with every FS aircraft. Why people still email me about it I'll never know.

AIRSTAIRS: To get the airstairs to deploy you must assign a key for wing fold. Bear in mind, if you deploy the stairs, the wings are folded - and you will not be able to fly!!!

CANOE LIGHTS: The 737-100 through -500 all have retractable landing lights on the flap canoes. To extend ours, you must assign a key for tailhook.

INSTALLATION:

Unzip to your 737 folder (whatever you named it.) It will create a folder called texture.psa.

Installation of the base package should be simple enough. For this release, I have packaged the base white textures as the base package. The other textures must be added in. To install the base aircraft (true of all three), simply extract to your aircraft folder. To install the repaints, extract the paint into the relevant aircraft's folder - e.g., if you download the Southwest 737-200 N526SW, extract the contents of the zip to your B737_200 folder. Then you must add the aircraft into aircraft.cfg. Open it up in notepad (I'm guessing this will be the second time most users use it, as the first time was when they were FORCED to read this readme, the only readme they ever read!) and add in the following (again using N526SW as an example):

[fltsim.1] <
title=Boeing 737-500_FX Southwest Airlines (The model and name will change with each aircraft. Just don't give two planes the same name, or they will not show up in FS)

The 737 became the best-selling commercial jetliner worldwide when orders for it hit 1,831 in June 1987 (surpassing Boeing's own 727 as the previous champ). However, it wasn't always that way\s in the first few years of production, there were so few orders that Boeing considered canceling the program. They didn't, and the airplane has more than proven itself in over three decades of service.

It seems daunting, but it's really very simple and only requires practice. Here's a blank copy of the required text, use it as a starting point.

LEGAL:

It's freeware. Don't sell it, don't put it where it can be sold. Don't make us do something that could land us in jail, we will.

Also, for painting, you need not ask our permission. Just credit us as the original authors. It would also be simpler for most people if you just release texture sets with instructions on adding them in.

MISCELLANEOUS:

-The FlightFX/SGA painters, who were patient enough to not leave while we made this thing

-Sam Chin for the FDE's

-Shawn Anderson for the wheel photos

-Steve for painting all those 737's and for keeping me sane sometimes

-Nils for the sound clips

-Airside TV for more of 'em

-Foo Fighters for their music, which I basically listened to CONSTANTLY while designing this thing. Visit their website at foofighters.com.

-And thanks to anyone else I forgot to mention
