Put Word Wrap On.

THE HAPPY BOTTOM RIDING CLUB.

Unzipping Barnes.zip should give you a folder named 'Barnes', a folder named 'Extras' and three readme files.

Read_2nd.txt is the story of Pancho Barnes and her Ranch.

Read_3rd.txt is about this scenery and why I wrote and released it.

'Extras' contains an AFCAD file and two voicepack files for this scenery with instructions included.

This file has the installation notes and legal stuff.

INSTALLATION.
If you have installed FS2002 scenery before you will know what to do, if not, move the Barnes folder into any folder that you wish to keep your add-on scenery in. I use FS2002/ADDON SCENERY but it can actually go anywhere at all. It can be kept outside FS2002 if you wish.

Start FS2002, go to 'World', 'Scenery Library', click the 'add' button and in the window that opens browse to wherever the Barnes folder is. Double click on Barnes, then click 'OK'. When the sim has built the scenery files go to 'World', 'go to airport', 'North America', 'California', 'Barnes'. Alternately, take off from Edwards (KEDW) runway 22 and as soon as you break ground you will see the ranch ahead and a little to the left. If you feel the urge to buzz the place go right ahead. You will be upholding an honoured tradition.

YOU WILL ALSO NEED:-
To display the trees you will need Gerrish Grey's tree library, trees_v3.zip, downloadable from most large flightsim sites including SurClaro.com and SurClaro. You will probably need Airport textures as well. If you don't already have them it is a good idea to download Airport, ASD, VOD, Nova and Nova Gold textures as most add-on sceneries will need them anyhow. These textures can be downloaded from most large sites and they are all included in the 'Must Have Files' section of SurClaro. You don't actually need them but the whole scenery looks better if you download any of the LandClass sceneries that cover this area.

INCLUDED IN THIS SCENERY:-
Barnes.bgl The main scenery file. I added a small flatten file to the scenery to stop the long entry road from the main road to the North from flickering at certain angles. I also gave the airfield a fictitious ID of KBRN.

Barnes_A16N.bgl A file that 'hardened' the whole site to avoid jolting while taxiing.

Barnes_AFD.bgl A file to add 'Barnes' to the FS 'Go To Airport' menu.

SouthBase.bgl A file that adds a little to the appearance of the default Edwards AFB by adding the concrete taxiways and hardstands to the old South Base runway. The default runway is landable.

SouthBase_AFD.bgl A file to add the Edwards South Base to the 'Go To Airport' menu. The code is a fictitious 9L1. Edwards North Base is 9L2 so 9L1 seemed appropriate.

CREDITS:-
Derek Leung for releasing FSSC, Flight Simulator Scenery Creator, a freeware scenery maker available at several large FS sites including SurClaro.com and SurClaro.
Paul Freeman for his website 'Abandoned and Little-Known airfields' that gave me the information I needed to start this project.
