Waco Classic Biplane for Fs2002/Fs2004
This modern fully equipped aircraft is produced by the Waco Classic aircraft Corporation and can be seen around the world giving lucky passengers their first ride in an open cockpit biplane! This package includes 6 variants of the aircraft, 4 wheeled and 2 on floats.
INSTALLATION:
Just unzip InstallWa.zip directly into your main Fs2002 or Fs2004 folder. This will install all the aircraft files, scenery and flights. There is also included a little package called Roadstaxi4.zip. Follow the instructions to replace the road and taxiway textures in fs2004 if you like older weathered surfaces to match the neat worn runways found in fs2004! They look better when flying the old planes..;o)

OPERATION:
When you boot up you will have a new category under flights called Waco Classic. Within that category there are 6 flights to get acqainted with the Waco Classics in various interesting Fs locations and situations.

FLYING:
These aircraft are best flown in the virtual cockpit mode for VFR flying. We have set up the flights so that the VC is zoomed at 75%. This seems to work best for this particular aircraft after trying many different settings. The pan rate can be adjusted in your main fs9cfg file from the default 400 to 900 which allows much faster panning using the hat switch. All testing has been at full realism. Always use the included checklists to get the aircraft started and to better simulate the experience of flying your own real aircraft. All flights start with engine off, master switch off and mixture at full lean. The Waco biplanes behave as most tail draggers and require a little more finesse than conventional tri geared aircraft. Try S turning when taxiing to see forward or a neater way is to use Shift/Control and either Enter or Backspace to slide over and lean out a little so you can see past the cowling... It's fun to take off, fly and land that way too..:o)) The Waco requires a lot of right rudder on take off to counter torque and stay on the runway!! The tail will come up when it's lift off time and you can relax some of that rudder. Climb out at full throttle and pull the power to about 2100 rpm at cruise. There is a smoke system installed and "i" will turn it on and off if you are in an air show mood..:o)) Set up your approach so that you cross the fence at about 70mph. Pulling the nose up will slow the aircraft so that you touch down at about 45-50mph and avoid bouncing back into the air. As the aircraft slows use full up elevator to keep the tail wheel firmly on the ground and tap the brakes till you can exit the runway. As always with tail draggers you need to fly them until they are parked and the engine is off!!!
The float version has more drag and therefore is a little slower than the wheeled versions but also is a little more fun! It will rotate at about 60mph and touch down easily at 50mph. Careful and don't run it on the shoreline rocks!!
There is a full radio stack at shift/2 and a GPS at shift/3 to facilitate IFR flying in bad weather. ATC is fully functional. Again, always use the check lists as all pilots would in real life!

MODIFICATIONS:
There is included in the package an API file so that you can use one of the many excellent freeware scenery programs to place your hangar or additional hangars wherever you desire. You can expand your flying service to include many scenic locations! If you desire to change your aircraft registration number just select the aircraft and change it as you would the default MS aircraft. The waco custom plate on the instrument panel can be customized with your name using any paint program. Make sure you use 8 bit 256 colors. Also the hangar sign can be similiarly changed if you want a new name for your service. If you have a face-on photo of yourself you can make a 256x256x256 bitmap to replace the pilot.bmp in the texture folders and you will find yourself in the Waco cockpit!!

CONCLUSION:
We hope you enjoy flying the Wacos as much as we did in creating them!!
