FS2002 Grumman F-14A Tomcat "Jolly Rogers", F-14D VF-101 "Grim Reapers" U.S.Navy

*******************************************************************************************

Installation:
This plane is intended to be flown using the virtual cockpit in VFR conditions, therefore
the first thing to do is increase the pan rate in fs2002, to have a quicker
response while you move the point of view. You can do this by opening the fs2002.cfg
and finding the line that says PAN_RATE=400. Increase it to at least 900 and save the file.
Place the aircraft folder in FS 2002/aircraft and the gauges in the FS 2002/gauges folder.

NOTE-1:
This plane is intended to be flown with the 3D virtual cockpit,
therefore this aircraft use only virtual instruments rather than
the traditional picture instrument panels, so in order to fully enjoy
this experience you should make sure that the "Hat Switch" on your stick
or yoke is set up to pan in all directions.

NOTE-2:
This plane requires a lot of system resources, so the suggested minimums
to play with the "turkey" are:
- 500 Mhz Processor
- 128Mb Ram
- A 3D card with at least 32MB of VRAM

NOTE-3:
The "Jolly Rogers" version is intentionally set to allow carrier operations in Fs2002, so:
- The accelleration is boosted so that you can take-off in less than 200 meters (real Tomcat requires 750 meters minimum run).
- The aircraft has "superspoilers". This means that if you hit the spoiler key you will have an immediate arrest (even when flying!).

Known problems:

- No virtual cockpit night lighting

Also M++ / or SHIFT+F4 or E are occasionally required if the engine is not working as you
lad the plane. Also keyboard shortcuts are required to change COM/NAV/Squawk frequiencies
from the virtual cockpit (see Fs2k2 documentation).

LAST but not least, as usual for carrier-based jets, pressing the "/" key (Spoilers) will cause
immediate arrest of the plane. This is intened to allow carrier landings, so you have to hit the spoiler
key as soon as you touch the deck. Also, flap keys (F5-F8) control the wing sweep.

(real or simulated), and as a little tribute to one of the greatest jet fighters ever made.

This file must remain for everyone, so you cannot sell, hire, rework or
repack this file (this includes uploading to a pay to enter site).

Peculiar F-14 gauges (fuel and engine controls) by Paul Schwerdtfeger.
Radio gauges taken from MB-339 panel by Angelo Moneta.
FS2002 Flight model by John J Schumacher.
Additional 3D details by Andrea Brunori.
Additional textures (VF-101 "Grim Reapers" -to be released soon!) by Paolo Trabucco.
Design, Visual model, virtual cockpit by Dino Cattaneo.

A rework of the F14 "Grim Reapers".
It doesn't overstress so easy,
the superbrakes and superspoiler have been set to normal (use an arrestorcables program for carrierops),
the panel has also changed.
Many thanks to the creator for creating and destributing this plane, thank you!!
Changes made by JData (the .air file) and by Stijn 'JZ1973' (the panel).
