FIAT G.12 by pcmeneg, version 1.0

CONTENTS
========

This is an FS9 aircraft release. It will also display with some errors in FSX. See *different* FS9 and FSX installation instructions below.

This archive installs seven different liveries applied to five different MDLs for five different types of Fiat G.12. Where appropriate they also have different aliased custom animations, sounds, engines, cockpit layouts, gauges, flight dynamics and on screen handling notes. All components are closely based on the original manuals. A very detailed history and explanation of how to fly the five different versions of G12 supplied is included inside the 'G12_common folder' which also contains all other files common to more than one version. After installation choose Fiat from the manufacturer selection screen and check that the seven newly installed liveries are listed in historical order.

1941 G.12CR 605-5 Regia Aeronuatica
1942 G.12T Regia Aeronuatica
1946 G.12T Avio Linee Italiane (I-VIDA)
1947 G.12CA Alitalia 'Alcione'
1948 G.12L CTA 'Airone'
1948 G.12LB Alitalia 'Regolo'
1950 G.12CA A.M.I. 36th Stormo

- Aircraft descriptions in selection screen by FSAviator and Manuele Villa
- Some GMax source components in common with the G.18 also kindly provided by Manuele Villa

Special thanks to Manuele Villa and FSAviator for help to improve realism.

Some gauges adapted from Hauke Keitel's freeware KEDI.gau archive and then renamed to prevent overwriting of the originals.

TIPS
====

1 - Turn gauge tooltips ON.

All gauges are metric, with Italian naming, matching reality and the on screen handling notes. You will need tooltips activated to identify gauges, to monitor system states, and to locate and identify mouse hot spots. Most tool-tips also provide conversion to Imperial units.

2 - In common with several other European nations Italian vintage era aircraft have thottles and RPM levers whose movement is opposite to US and UK practice. Minimum is full forward and maximum is full aft.

3 - Read 'Fiat G12 history.rtf' and 'How to fly the Fiat G.12.txt' within the G12_common folder.

INSTALLATION
============

*Naming of the folders must be preserved during and after installation. Many componnets are within a common folder*

------ FS9 = FS 2004 --------

1. UNZIP this archive into a TEMPORARY FOLDER

2. MOVE the 6 folders with names starting G12_ into your AIRCRAFT folder.

3. MOVE G12_V10.cab into your GAUGES folder

4. MOVE Newll.fx and fx_SM74_landing.fx into your EFFECTS folder (allow overwrite)

----- FSX ---------

1. UNZIP this archive into a TEMPORARY FOLDER

2. MOVE the 6 folders with names starting G12_ into your AIRPLANES sub folder.

3. MOVE the *contents* of the supplied gauges folder into your GAUGES folder

4. MOVE the *contents* of the G12_effects folder into your EFFECTS folder (allow overwrite)

5. FIND the G12_FSX_patch folder inside the G12_common folder you installed at step 2.

6. From inside that G12_FSX_patch folder COPY The file 'glass_reflex_c.bmp' into EACH of the seven texture (livery) folders that you installed at step 2 and EVERY G.12 texture folder you may install in the future if you install any repaints for use in FSX.
Do not start the G.12 with the default "Friday Harbor" FSX scenery directly in flight with gear extended, a gear failure will occur due to high speed. Expect a further specific FSX release of this G.12 project.
