HISTORY:

Since 1992, Rio-Sul has been successfully operating a fleet of Boeing 737-500's into regional
routes, on many Brazilian aiports like CGH, SDU, LDB, CXS, BPS, SSA, CWB & BSB; competing with
TAM Fokker F-100's. Today, as the biggest commuter airline in Brazil, RSL flies 15 units of Boeing
737-500, also as the biggest Latin American operator for this type.

NOTES:

This file has copyrighted design and repaint, it CANNOT BE SOLD! You're able to
distribute it freely EVERYWHERE like as include it in static aircraft packages,
sceneries, to add sounds a panels, to publish it in personal or FS-related pages,
etc, etc. But just be sure of doing that as long as you DON'T CHARGE FOR THE FILES!!!!

I'll not allow the use of my repaint textures through any texture converter
program or other program without my written authorization. If noticed in any
ways, actions will be taken!

**Some people have already advised me of 3D-video incompatibillity with SOME planes
of mine. First of all, none of them was ever designed for 3D use. If you by chance
suffer NO problems in 3D video mode, what I consider the ideal thing, that's was
just a matter of luck into the textures. I think you all know already that some
colors look better in 3D or even just appear, in 3D mode. If you have any problems,
there would be nothing I could do at all. Unfortunately I'm not equipped with a 3D
video card yet (can't test any results as in pre-releases). Please, excuse-me for this
small headache! :-)**

A PERSONAL CASE:

PT-SLS has been one of the few planes I flew, and one of the few ones I admit
to be "passioned" with. It was on September 11th of this year ('99), that I was
returning from Porto Seguro - Bahia. It's just incredible to see, how successfully
Rio-Sul operations have been taking place into small airports like Porto Seguro (BPS).
The occupation in all RSL routes flown by the 737-500 is almost 100%!! And one can surely
confirm it, mostly on peak times of lunch/afternoon. There were several times that I flew
beetween CWB and CGH with NO empty seats on RSL 737's.
Now, why to say I "fell in love" with PT-SLS?
FIRST:
PT-SLS has been the protagonist of the most special flight of my life, the BPS-CWB charter jumpseat.
It was Sep. 11th '99, and my friends group was coming back home, the take-off at BPS was stunning, specially
because of the EXCELLENT view that right side passengers have of the beaches and woods around BPS. The flight then climbed
out to CWB (home), and we have magnificent 2 hours of flight on PT-SLS. Almost at the end of the flight,
there were some folks dancing and singing in the front seats rows of the plane, when a very sudden turbulence
shaked the plane strongly for some minutes. The "samba" rytim was changed by scares, but nothing so scary to me,
because I knew we were just passing through a winter cloud, very common at the CWB area. The "dances" and funs stopped
immediately, util landing. It was much better for those very tired and sleepy passengers like me, who could at least take
a short nap. :-)
SECOND: I guess that PT-SLS has been one of the few Rio-Sul airplanes that were still carrying the now "old livery".
RSL planes are now painted into the same VARIG "standard" livery, but with VERY BAD lettering (in my opinion).
I've also took a "take one" answer card of "how was your flight", submitted to Rio-Sul through mail, but
so far, ANY answer came to me, as my intent of "saving" the old image of the airline. I simply LOVE the 3 blue lines
RSL livery, it has the aspect of a modern and fast airline. Now, the VARIG "standard" seems much more like those
leased aircrafts that can't get a full livery, just very simple, but nothing useful or pleasant. That's why I tought
that the "old" livery deserves a sincere homage, and it is into this FS aircraft-file.
THIRD: Rio-Sul flight service and attendmant has always been the BEST into the airlines I fly. The flights are usually very
on time and the food/drink service inflight is very pleasant. Example: on another trip I took, beetween CWB and CGH, on a Friday morning,
the plane wasn't pretty full, so, the pilot and the crew could dispose a very well done service, noticed by the capitain's many in-flight
indications, and also a "speech" to the passengers, like at the style that calms everyone. The stewardesses were quite gentle, and food
came fresh and hot, as it must be. Now, can you figure an airline with such good quality get into the WORST paint scheme it may ever exist?
If by chance you are a director of Rio-Sul, or have friends/relatives working at the communication dept. of the airline, please, tell
them to try keeping the "old" 3 blue lines image, it's really the best. I wouldn't stay here spending so much time and words if
what I said now wasn't true. It's the truth, quite comprovable, as I've said: A modern & fast airline appearence. (Now, you know,
this appeal is just posible by Brazilian resident folks, but, who knows...) Sometimes, the simplest suggestion values a gold mine,
just think deeply on that. :-)

With my biggest regards,
Respectfuly,
