FS 2000 Scenery
Bendigo Victoria, Australia. *** VERSION 2 *** By David Friswell.
Bendigo is my home town where I learnt to fly in Piper Pa-28-161 Warriors, it is situated in a former gold rush (19th century) area & where gold mining still takes place under the southern part of Bendigo.
When I purchased FS2000, I discovered that although Bendigo was depicted, there were no buildings etc. So using Airport 2.6 I decided to add almost all of the hangars, business', taxiways, entry roads (for cars) and some trees (for effect only and probably not to scale or in their proper location). I must add these buildings don't have their true textures. Furthermore, FS2000 has what appears to be some sort of waterway running along the western edge of the aerodrome, this does not exist, and since one cannot seem to remove this feature without removing the original aerodrome I have left it in place. Even though there are trees in the middle of it (actually where the trees are supposed to be in real life).
There are more Hangars and an Air Ambulance station being constructed on the northern side of the main apron, and in the future RWY 17/35 will be reconstructed to cater for aircraft over 5700kg MTOW, but until then this is how YBDG looks. Please enjoy!
P.S. When you fly north of Bendigo, it looks & is FLAT, the same as Fs2000! And the other thing one could not add is the bloody Kangaroos that tend to hop out in front of you when conducting Night operations (Also cannot add the dirty underpants that you may be wearing when they do!!!!!!!! :-) )!!
