READ ME file for the Flight Design Composite Technology 2000 (or the CT2K). This is version 1.0 by Don Halcom for the FS2002 PRO.

This is FREEWARE and that means you cannot sell it. You are free to use it and even give copies away but nothing else. If you like the files (gauges, sound files etc.) and you want to use them elsewhere in your flight simulator feel free to do so. If you use them in one of your models for other FREEWARE distribution, it is considered common courtesy to obtain the permission of the original person who made the item you want to use and to cite them in your FREEWARE. This is what I do now.

CREDITS

Thanks to Barry Blaisdell for his excellent Rotax 912 sound files. As far as I know these are the only Rotax 912 sound files on the internet. There are other Rotax sound files just not Rotax 912 sound files.

Thanks to Ike H. Slack for his gps500x.gau file that is used in conjuction with the gps.gau file that comes with FS2002. This gauge simulates the Garmin 500 GPS.

Thanks to Microsoft from which most of the gauges in this model were taken. These gauges came with FS2002 PRO and should be in your FS2002 simulator. These gauges are shown in the panel.cfg file and should be present on your computer or the plane will not fly correctly. I have included the ones you need in the zip file just in case.

I did a small number of gauges in the ct2k.cab file and would like it if you notified me if you are going to use any of them unaltered in your FREEWARE.

DESCRIPTION

The CT2K flies in the USA under a special classification, it is a Special Light Sport Aircraft (SLSA). This classification is restricted to VFR flying only. One of the things about this new classification is the Sport Pilot License that can now be obtained with a minimum of 20 flight instructor hours and no physical examination. If you were a fully licensed pilot and failed your physical, you cannot get the Sports Pilot ticket, sorry guys. These planes are relatively inexpensive and usually sell for less than $100,000 full up and assembled. They are restricted to two seats, upper speed limits and no aerobatics or deliberate spins.

This plane is made of composite materials. Here is a small set of specifications:

General Length ---------------- 20.4 ft
Max fuselage width ------------ 4.0 ft
Wing -------------------------- 116 sq ft
Horizontal stabilizer --------- 18 sq ft
Vertical fin ------------------ 12 sq ft
Wing span --------------------- 30.5 ft
VNE --------------------------- 145 knots
VH ---------------------------- 120 knots
75% power cruise--------------- 112 knots
VS (full flaps) --------------- 39 knots
VS (no flaps) ----------------- 45 knots
Max takeoff weight ------------ 1320 lbs
Empty weight ------------------ 660 lbs
Useful load ------------------- 635 lbs
Max fuel weight---------------- 205 lbs
Rotax 912ULS engine------------ 100 hp

This flight simulator model has a lot of moving parts but no moving doors. The exterior has reflective surfaces.
