WELCOME TO MAREEBA AIRPORT
----------------------------

YMBA - MAREEBA AIRPORT - QUEENSLAND - AUSTRALIA - for FS2002
------------------------------------------------

Included in this scenery is the memorial to the men and women who served at the Mareeba Aerodrome during World War II.

I wish to thank all who gave so much, so that we can enjoy the life we have today.

The memorial faces the north, so you will have to slew onto the road in order to see the front.

This scenery is designed to use the default MSFS taxiways and runways for Mareeba.

OPTIONAL ZIP FILES: (each contain seperate readme files inside)

Landclass.zip -- will add the mareeba township
AI_traffic.zip -- will add artificial traffic to the mareeba airport.

STEP1:

INSTALLATION
------------
Copy and Paste the "Mareeba" folder directly into the Scenedb directory of FS2002

STEP2:

Scenery Activation
------------------
Start FS2002 and from the tool menu choose World - Scenery Library, then select 'Add Area' and browse to ...MS2002/Scenedb/Mareeba/Scenery file. Click ok and then okay again, this will activate the scenery.

**If the scenery textures are not shown** (buildings are all black) then,
Use windows explorer to browse to the texture subfolder eg. Scenedb/Mareeba/Texture and copy all the textures (*.bmp files) to the main texture file of FS2002.

STEP3:

The default fuel bowser will appear halfway down the runway (just to the north). It is in the wrong place, so follow the next step if you wish to remove it.

Removal of default fuel bowser

(You cannot do this step before you have activated the scenery!!
-------------------------------

Use windows explorer and browse to your main FS2002 directory, then open 'scenery.cfg' using notepad.

Scroll down to find the Mareeba layer...(NOTE: Your layer number may be different to the layer shown in the example below!)

Copy and paste the Exclude and Flatten lines, shown below, into the corresponding layer in your Scenery.cfg file as shown below...

(copy ONLY the two lines below)

Exclude=S17 4.16,E145 25.56,S17 4.25,E145 25.76,objects
Flatten.0=17,N0 0.,E0 0.,N0 0.,E0 0.,N0 0.,E0 0.,N0 0.,E0 0.

here is an example. (Don't copy this!!)
BEFORE
--------------scenery.cfg file ----------------------

[AREA.125]
Title=mareeba
Layer=124
Active=TRUE
Local=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\SCENEDB\mareeba\scenery
Remote=
Required=FALSE

--------------scenery.cfg file ----------------------
AFTER

[AREA.125]
Title=mareeba
Layer=124
Active=TRUE
Local=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\SCENEDB\mareeba\scenery
Exclude=S17 4.16,E145 25.56,S17 4.25,E145 25.76,objects
Flatten.0=17,N0 0.,E0 0.,N0 0.,E0 0.,N0 0.,E0 0.,N0 0.,E0 0.
Remote=
Required=FALSE

Save and then from inside the FS2002 program go to World on the toolbar menu. Click on Scenery Library and then click Ok.

The default scenery is only a fuel bowser, but it is in the wrong place in relation to the airport, so it had to go.

Enjoy!

Scenery Complexity Settings
---------------------------
In an effort to make this scenery available to as many users as possible, the level of detail is determined by your 'Scenery Complexity' settings.

To check your settings, or change it, from the menu select 'Options' - 'Settings' - Display.

Please adjust complexity as you desire.

AI Planes
--------

I have created and included a modified airport plan, 'YMBA1.txt', it has accurate taxiways and gates for the AI aircraft using the MS2002 default taxiways.
Simply drag the YMBA1.txt file into the AFInstaller and you will have ample AI traffic at the airport.
It was made using Lee Swordy's program AFCAD. This is a fantastic utility for MSFS2002 and I highly recomend it, and it is available for download from SurClaro

Many thanks to the people who have created these programs.

All custom building textures were created by myself.

FINALLY
------
Feedback would be much appreciated. If anyone has aerial photographs of regional airports from queensland, please let me know as I would like to create more. If anyone else is interested in teaming up to do more scenery of Australia, please let me know.
