LOCKHEED L-1011 TRISTAR PANEL FOR FS2000
--------------------------------------
By Darim Rahmatallah/FFG and updated by David Randolph

Version 1.1 June, 2001

**NOTE** This panel has been designed for use in 1024x768 FULL SCREEN mode. The panel will look inferior, possibly even unusable at any other resolution. For best results, enter full screen mode FIRST, and THEN load up the panel. Also please ensure that you have the free Microsoft Aircraft Coverter and Patch 1 installed.

THESE FILES ARE FREEWARE!! PLEASE ADHERE TO THE COPYRIGHTS

INSTALLATION:

1) Unzip all files to a temp folder.

2) Any file with ".gau" at the end goes into your FS2000/Gauges directory.

3) If you would like to have aircraft interior views, simply go under the panel folder of the default 737-400 and copy the following 8 bitmap files to your L-1011 panel folder: LEFT, RIGHT, UP, FORWARD_LEFT, FORWARD_RIGHT, REAR_LEFT, REAR_RIGHT, REAR. The panel config file is already set up to handle these views. I didn't include them to decrease the size of this download.

4) Everything else should go into a panel you name "Panel" and place in the L-1011 aircraft folder of your choice

5) For instructions on using the panel, unzip 'Maunal.zip' into a temp directory, and see the notes and accompanied jpegs enclosed.

6) I know that the panel isn't 100% accurate. It's probably about 85%. Please don't contact me with suggestions on programming gauges or anything major because I don't know how to tweak gauges. If you're offering your services, well then... welcome aboard! But I've found gauge programmers are a rare find and usually too busy. I would love to see this panel updated with the quality of Paul Golding or Andi Jaros with electrical panel, etc. But for now, this is what we've got. Nevertheless, it's a fun panel.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS PANEL WAS CREATED FOR THE FUN AND ENJOYMENT OF L-1011 FANS EVERYWHERE. I DEDICATED MY TIME TO PUT THIS OUT THERE BECAUSE THERE ISN'T A QUALITY PANEL FOR THIS PLANE ANYWHERE. PLEASE BE KIND SHOULD YOU WISH TO CONTACT ME. PEOPLE WHO WRITE UNPLEASENT EMAILS OR DEMANDING THREATS ONLY MAKE PEOPLE LIKE ME WANT TO STOP CONTRIBUTING TO THE COMMUNITY. A WORD OF THANKS IS SOMETIMES THE NICEST THING YOU CAN DO. :-)

ONLY READ BELOW THIS LINE IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO THE GAUGE/PANEL DESIGNERS ARE...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CREDITS/NOTES OF THANKS (original from Darim):

The person I want to thank most for his assistance in the creation of this panel is Christian Koegler of HGHB (email: chriskoe@teleweb.at).
He spent many hours creating most of the custom gauges that have gone into this project, and without him, the panel would never have reached the stage it is at now. A MILLION thanks Chris!

Numerous gauges have also been 'borrowed' from other sources. For these, I would like to thank:

Andi Jaros : Jaros@bigfoot.de
Olav Roenningen : olavmr@online.no
Eric Ernst : kordos@erols.com
Wade Chafe : wchafe@thezone.net
Laurent Crenier : Laurent.Crenier@village.uunet.be
Richard Probst :(now retired from the FS scene - best of luck Rich!)
Paul Golding : paul.golding@btinternet.com
Chuck Dome : chdome@worldnet.att.net
HGHB Virtual Instruments

Some additional gauges were borrowed from the fantastic "Caravelle" panel by BenoƮt Gaurant. The following is a list of these gauge authors...

- Samuel Kalachoras : EPR indicators and surfaces position indicators.

- the ALT HOLD function for the AP has been provided to me by Chuck Dome.

CARP=Chris Arrington & Richard Probst (fs98 airspeed, clock, dme2,
flaps ind., tat ind., trim value)

CD=Chuck Dome (AP buttons, AP IAS value, autocoordination switch,
main ADI with fd, EGT ind. for fs2k fly dyn. back panel light)

CK=Christian Koegler (Gear lever, stall & vmo lights, seat belts & no smoking)

DFD=DragonFlightDesign (Dai Griffiths for fuel low, ice warn, gear position,
low oil press lights, Anti-ice switches and indicators)

EE=Eric Ernst (illuminated inscriptions and fake gauges, EGT for fs98 fly dyn., N2,
N1 indicators, start switches for fs98 fly dyn.)

EO=Espen Oijordsbakken (fuel temp. ind,)

FPDA=FreewarePanelDesignerAssociation (autothrottle switch, flap lever,
nav light and strobes switches, switchable panel lights, gear sound)

MW=Mike Weerasinghe (panel switches and oilpress)

PJD=Paul Delaney (ADF, VOR1&2, Fuel quantity indicators for 4 tanks versions)

RP=Richard Probst (HSI, registration number, Fuel Flow for fs2k fly dyn., fuel quantity
for 3 tanks option)

SHGO=Geir Olsen for Bryan Shirota (FuelFlow-FuelUsed ind. & reset FF switch for
fs98 fly dyn.)

TDE=Tony Deblasio (Radio-altimeter, reverse lights, standby ADI)

WC=Wade Chafe (adf, nav1&2, com and transponder frequencies).

FS or FS2k=Microsoft default ones

Please notice that to use the gauges in other panels, you should
ask permission to those gauge builders and then mention their
name linked somewhere to the gauge name (in order not to brake the
link beetween the original author and his gauge building work).

I hope I didn't forget anyone or made mistakes...
If it seems like you've been forgotten in that list,
you can add your name and upload the corrected
read-me file as an update to this panel.

Many thanks and congratulations to those freeware gauge builders.

I think that's the lot.. If I have forgotten anybody, then please Email me immediately so that I can ammend the list ;-)

The panel update was created on a Pentum 3 650Mhz. It requires a 3D video card to function properly. This panel is relatively complex, so please read the enclosed Manual before contacting us with problems/difficulties. If you have additional questions, or comments on how to improve the panel, please feel free to email us, or post a message on our Website forum. (http:\\SurClaro.com\ffg\)
