44AK-WEST PAPOOSE LAKE AIRPARK

Bush Pilot Scenery for FS2000 (only)

Created By: Mr. Ken "WeBad" Nelson

********************************************************************************************

Thanks for downloading this scenery. I'm sure you'll find it quite challengeing as you can see (look at the README.1st.htm file), this defualt FS2000 airfield is placed into a giant hole in the earth. Wow, kinda makes ya feel like your "LANDING IN A BUCKET"

While flying over these mountains the other day, I noticed this airfield setting all alone so I decided to add the lake,trees,animals,homes,hangers, and everything except the gravel airfield and its ground texture. This scenery isn't at all accurate as I didn't and don't have any real pictures to go by. I did however go to Airnav and found all the info I could. According to their report, West Papoose Lake Airpark is closed during the spring thaw cause the ground is soft and unusable.

Also, while createing this scenery, I flew a DHC-2 Beaver (and not the turbo model) from this airfield and pretended to be fully loaded. I tell ya what, it took 3 complete circles to clime out of this bucket at 200 feet per second clime rate. Hopefully, you won't get as dizzy as I did. "PLEASE ENJOY"

:::::DISCRIPTION and COMMENTS:::::

Please go to: http://www.airnav.com/airport/44AK on the world wide web. There, you'll find all the info on the real West Papoose Lake Airport. And shame on me for createing this scenery at a real life airport, while not even knowing what the place really looks like. Really, I'm hopeing someone could e-mail me with a real airial photograph (kinda close please) and I'll try my best to rebuild this scenery. Untill then, it isn't my intent to offend anyone who lives near this real Alaskan area. So please accept my apology and in my own defense, all I can say is "I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF"--" I JUST HAD TO DO IT" :)

:::::ACKNOWLEDGMENTS:::::

A Big thanks to Brian McWilliams and the entire Flight Sim Group for creating the Scenery
design program Airport 210 which I used to create this scenery. The APT210 program is a
freeware program and is really quite easy to use. Please go to the Flightsimgroup home page
at: http://www.flightsimgroup.com/ and check it out.

And another thanks goes to Mark Remien. With his Animal Macros, I was able to add the
Wildlife and camp fires around the Lake. "Thanks Mark"

Again, I find myself using those great scenery Macros made by Dan Geis. Please visit Dan's web site at: http://members.aol.com/dgeis23328/index.htm There you'll find Dan's scenery designs and aircraft and of course, his scenery Macro's. ("Five Sets of excellent Macros")

Also, Fred Banting, not only is his aircraft my favorite for flying the Bush scenery, it's also the same aircraft I used as static aircraft. Thanks again Fred.

:::::FILES LIST & INSTALLATION:::::

THIS SCENERY WAS CREATED USING THE FS2000 SCENERY FOLDER! ! THEREFORE, MAKE SURE YOU PLACE THE TWO SCENERY BGL'S INTO THE FS2000 SCENERY FOLDER otherwise, the defualt fs2k ground texture will cover part of the lake. DO NOT USE THE FS2000 SCENERY LIBRARY for adding this scenery!

Scenery BGL's

WPLA.bgl and WPLASA.bgl . .Located in WPLA/Scenery folder. . .Copy these files and Paste them into the FS2000 Scenery folder.

Texture files

Copy and Paste the textures I've included with this scenery into the FS2000\TEXTURE folder.

README.1st.htm . . . . . If possible, you should be reading this file now. It includes this text plus pictures for viewing the scenery.

README.txt . . . . . . . . . . . . . This is the file your reading now.

Picture Folder

WPLA.jpg , WPLA2.jpg , WPLA3.jpg, WPLA4.jpg , WPLAapt.jpg . . . . . . .These are used for viewing with the HTML file. If you remove these pictures or the folder, the HTML page won't show them either.

AND THE SOURCE CODE FILES

WPLA.apt ...............As shown in the photo WPLAapt.jpg. By placing the WPLA.apt file into the Apt 210 folder, you'll be able to open and EDIT this scenery to your likeing. :) You could even change the coordinates and altitude to place this same scenery in your back yard.

WPLASA.apt ...............This file adds all the static aircraft to the scenery. Again, opening this file with the Airport 210 program allows changeing of the scenery aircraft or whatever you like.
