KCHO is located 8 miles north of the City of Charlottesville,Virginia.
The Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO) is a non-hub, commercial service airport offering 60 daily non-stop flights to and from Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New York/LaGuardia, Washington/Dulles, Cincinnati, and Atlanta. CHO is served by Delta Connection, United Express (Atlantic Coast Airlines), and US Airways Express (Piedmont Airlines). Also begining this month, KCHO will welcome Northwest Airlines with service to and from DTW (Detroit).
Service was initiated at the Airport by Piedmont Airlines in 1955. Since then, the facility has grown to include a 60,000 sq. ft. terminal facility with modern customer amenities offering on-site rental cars, ground transportation, and food service. General aviation facilities include an executive terminal offering a full-service fixed base operation, flight schools, and aircraft charter firms.
This project is primarily RWY12 (make sure you have all the available and current add-ons - all downloadable here at AVSIM.) Also included is an AFCAD .bgl that adds a little concerte here and there and three exclude .bgls (sorry- still only know how to take it out a little at a time) Also ... for LAGO owners (Payware) I have included an .se2 file, this will add a couple of aircraft and a vehicle or two, although if you don't have LAGO, no problem ... as I have also included the RWY12 .XML file so if you are comfortable user of RWY12 for adding items to your sceneries... feel free to add to your hearts content.
Unzip and simply place the KCHO file in you Flightsim9\addon scenery folder. Start up flightsim, go to the scenery library, add the area KCHO and restart your flightsim... there you have it. If you also use LAGO ... drop the .se2 file into the flightsim9\LAGO\FSE\Data file and that will complete the stuff I have done.
While this is by no means a precise representation of the Charlottesville-Abemarle Airport, it does come fairly close and certainly goes well beyond the default. ENJOY.
