VG27 Windy Ridge Airport

Located near Bedford, Virginia and the D-Day Memorial, Windy Ridge is, in reality, a small 1100 foot grass airstrip owned by John Whorley, Jr. I doubt that Mr. Whorley had this in mind for this lovely little slice of Virginia ... but ....... well, that often is the beauty of the hobby ... a bit of Sim License ... and presto, Windy Ridge has become a picturesque side trip when you visit the Memorial. A place for the whole family to drop by for BBQ, perhaps a balloon ride, a ride in a glider or John four place airship, or if you happen to be lucky, it is possible that you might be lucky enough to live a piece of the past as a couple of beautifully maintained Curtis Jennys have been know to drop in as the barnstorm their way across Virginia. Project was completed using RWY12 (with all the latest additions, including Len's hangers2) all available as freeware and all here at avsim. In addition, AFCAD was used for this project as well. Included is the .XML file, in case you are a RWY12 user .. you are welcome to add your own special touches to this project.
Unzip into a temp directory ... simply drop the file called "Windy Ridge" into your flightsim's add-on scenery section. Start Flightsim ... go to library settings, add Windy Ridge - exit and restart the program, and pile you and your special person into a J3 or any other aircraft capable of handling an 1100 foot grass strip and come on down. Oh, be sure to bring a dish to share. You are ALWAYS welcome.
