Luft'46 Art Aircraft Series No.9

Horten HO-229

by Kazunori Ito

*******************************************************************************

This aircraft is an completely unknown aircraft.
In the WWII end, it is one of the original bills of the aircraft development that a German air force planned.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

This was a flying-wing fighter-bomber project whose first rototype made its maiden flight in 1945.
It is expected performance and armament were great and it was the first flying-wing with turbojets.
There was a B version planned which was intended as night fighter with radar and 2 crew member.
One of the main drawbacks of this design was that it was limited in the choice of engines; for example, the sronger HeS 011 turbojet, which was in development, would have had a too big diameter for fitting it into the engine slots of this flying-wing.
This was one of the main reasons why the Gotha engineers which recieved the Ho IX plans for production preparations designed the Gotha project Go P.60 with each one tubojet over and under the centerline.

[ About the directions point in FS2004 ]

This aircraft model is made by using FSDS Ver2.24.
Therefore, it is possible to play basically in FS2004(FS9).
However........!!
For a wide large-scale aircraft, the distortion is caused and the phenomenon of the aerofoil tip's disappearing happens in the spot shooting mode.
If this phenomenon happens, Please switch to the spot shooting mode by using other small aircraft.
Afterwards, if this aircraft is selected, it is normally displayed.
