Luft'46 Art Aircraft Series No.7

Arado Ar E.555/1

by Kazunori Ito

*******************************************************************************

This aircraft is an completely unknown aircraft.
In the WWII end, it is one of the original bills of the aircraft development that a German air force planned.

I found the book "Prototype and plan machine of a German air force" in the bookstore the other day.
I was interested because of the relation where the Luft '46 series had been made since before and the book was taken.
This Arado Ar E.555/1 was published in that.
Very interesting!!.
Six engines on the airframe of Flying wing type.
It was very impressive.
However, I have completely forgotten the manufacturer and the model name because I did not buy the book.
Next, the book had already disappeared when having gone to the bookstore.
Well............well.....................
I finally found it by searching for several bookstores.
And, I made this airframe referring to the book.
(Though it turned out that the material of this airframe existed in the Fuft '46 site later)

Anyway, Will you think it is good-looking?

Well.......well.....again............

--------------------------------------------------------------------

It is a bomber of the Flying Wing type researched from the concept of bomber that is more high-speed than the fighter.
It was an aircraft that was able to fly the cruising range of 5000 km at the speed of about 800 km/h by installing the bomb of 4000 kg.
Development was advanced aiming at practical use.
However, development was suddenly discontinued by the instruction in only eight months.

In mid-December 1943, at the Arado facilities in Landeshut/Schlesien, work began on a flying wing project series under the direction of Dr.-Ing. W. Laute.
This was further elaborated by Dipl. Ing. Kosin and Lehmann of Arado under the title of "Long Range/High Speed Flying Wing Aircraft".
A discussion took place with the RLM several months later in early 1944, and Arado was asked to compile design studies for a long range jet powered bomber.
Since the requirements were high speed, a bomb load of at least 4000 kg (8818 lbs) and a range of 5000 km (3107 miles), it was realized that the project could best be fulfilled by using a flying wing design with a laminar high speed profile.
The number of designs eventually reached fifteen, and included strategic bombers, remote controlled weapons carriers and fighters.

The Arado Ar E.555/1 was constructed entirely of metal (both steel and Duraluminum), and was basically a flying wing with a short, circular cross section forward fuselage where the pressurized cockpit was located.
There were two large vertical fins and rudders that sat 6.2 m (20' 4") from the centerline of the aircraft.
The main landing gear undercarriage consisted of two tandem, dual wheeled units that retracted inwards into the wing, and the front landing gear was a single, dual wheeled unit that retracted to the rear to lie beneath the cockpit. A droppable auxialiary landing gear could be used for overload conditions.
Power was to be provided by six BMW 003A, all located on the rear upper surface of the wing. Defensive armament consisted of two MK 103 30mm cannon in the wing roots near the cockpit, a remote controlled turret armed with two MG 151/20 20mm cannon located just behind the cockpit and a further two MG 151/20 20mm cannon in a remote controlled tail turret, which was controlled via a periscope in a pressurized weapons station behind the cockpit area.
On December 28, 1944, Arado was ordered to cease all work on the E.555 series, probably due to the worsening war situation, and the need to concentrate aircraft development and production on fighters.

[ About the installation ]

The airframe must copy the \Ar E555_1 folder as it is in the Aircraft folder of FS2002 or FS2004.

\FS2002(FS2004)
-----\Aircraft
---------\Ar E555_1

Please copy all files in the \gauges folder onto the gauge in the Gauges folder of FS2002 or FS2004.
A general gauge is saved for the gauge bundled this time.
Cessna, Cessna182S, Beach_baron, EXTRA-300, Kingair, GPS gauges are necessary besides the bundled gauge.
It is necessary to introduce no possession of these gauges separately.

[ About the operations ]

A special key operation is not used for this model.

[ About free software ]

All aircraft that I made are free software.
The reprint and the repaint may go freely.
However, please defend the following conditions.

1.The change in contents of this file is prohibited.
(Please distribute it like the Zip file of the current state when distributing it. )
2.Please neither reverse-assembly nor never remodel it of the aircraft model.
3.Please open only the texture to the public when you open the repaint to the public.
(Opening in the state to bundle my aircraft model to the public is prohibited. )
4.It is prohibited to bundle and to open a new panel to the public to my aircraft model.
(Please open only the panel to the public.
It is included in this file, and remodeling the panel that uses the panel background and the change in the panel background are prohibited. )
5.I maintain the copyright of the aircraft model and the panel background.
6.The copyright of the gauge belongs to the author.

[ About the directions point in FS2004 ]

This aircraft model is made by using FSDS Ver2.24.
Therefore, it is possible to play basically in FS2004(FS9).
However........!!
For a wide large-scale aircraft, the distortion is caused and the phenomenon of the aerofoil tip's disappearing happens in the spot shooting mode.
If this phenomenon happens, Please switch to the spot shooting mode by using other small aircraft.
Afterwards, if this aircraft is selected, it is normally displayed.
