Compania Nacional Cubana de Aviacion
Lockheed Electra L-10, Douglas DC-3 & Douglas DC-4

dc3cub.zip

Douglas DC-3 Compania Nacional Cubana de Aviacion
Registration CU-T38

TEXTURES ONLY
For FS 2004

This is repaint for the default MSFS 2004 DC-3
by Dale DeLuco for FS BERLIN / 05.2004
e-mail: NYCDADuws@aol.com
The Base bare metal textures are made by Mark Beaumont
e-mail: MABeaumont@aol.com

I should point out that this repaint is not totally accurate. The default DC3 does not have both right and left wing bmps nor does it have both right and left side rudder bmps therefore it is not possible to add serial numbers or airline logo on the wings and the airline logo on the rudder must be in reverse on one side....sorry about that. The livery is accurate in other respects. I hope you enjoy my repaint.

description=="The Douglas DC-3 revolutionized air transportation and airline service during the 1930s and 1940s. It was a luxury airliner that boasted cabin heat and running water in its on-board lavatory. With the right balance of efficiency, range, speed, and payload, the DC-3 was the first aircraft to earn a profit for its owners just by carrying passengers. The hero of early airlines, a handful of DC-3s are still at work today."

7. Save the file. You're done; she will appear in your aircraft selection menu accordingly.

Cubana began in October 1929 as Compania Nacional Cubana de Aviacion Curtiss.
Formed by the Curtiss Aviation Group it began flights with Curtiss Robin (Thrust)
and the next year using a Ford 4-AT aircraft.
In May 1932 the airline was acquired by Pan American and the airline renamed
Compania Nacional Cubana de Aviacion.
In 1935 the Lockheed L-10 Electra were introduced.

By 1945 the airline name had been shortened to Compania Cubana de Aviacion and
first international flights were started with DC-3 aircraft to the USA (Miami).

After the war the fleet consisted of western aircraft including DC-4, Bristol
Britannias, Viscounts and Constellations but from 1959 when the Cuban government
reorganised the airline as Empresa Consolidada Cubana de Aviacion the Western
aircraft types were sold and Russian airliners were used. International services
were flown with Ilyushin IL-18 turboprops, regional flights were with IL-14 twin
piston types and Antonov An24 twins, these types being introduced in the first
half of the 1960s.

Cubana had 3 DC-3 and 10 C-47 in use. CU-T38 was ex PanAm NC33609.

The main theme of our webside is the Microsoft Flight Simulator (FS2002) with
special regards to Berlin airports - specially to Tempelhof Central Airport
but also to Gatow and Tegel). We will cover the period from 1945 until about
1990, that is, when the west part of Berlin was surrounded by The Wall and
when these airports stood under the command of the west allied air forces
(US Air Force, Royal Air Force and French Air Force). Along with the
world-famous Berlin Airlift this is probably the most exciting period in the
history of these airports. In addition to this we would like to document some
typical aircrafts which were used in this time in East Germany especially to
Berlin-Schönefeld.
