This scenery is designed to use the default MSFS runways for Cairns and has NOT been tested in FS2002.

Firstly!!

My computer is small and old (800mhz and Nvidia GeForce4 etc) and so, I enjoy a luxurious 3-4 fps on final with everything pulled back to minimum. I tried throughout the project to make the package as fps friendly as possible, hopefully without trading off too much detail.

I hope I have suceeded and you can enjoy minimal impact on frame rates!

I am always interested to hear from anyone with comments regarding this scenery!

INSTALLATION
------------

After unzipping you should have 4 folders and a bgl file:

AI_traffic
cairns
cairns2k
cairnsdem

AF2_YBCS.bgl

** all the rest are pictures or text files and are not required by the scenery. (you can ditch em')

-------
STEP 1:
-------
Copy and Paste the file 'AF2_YBCS.bgl' to the Addon Scenery\scenery directory:

eg. - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\scenery\AF2_YBCS.bgl

*********************************

-------
STEP 2:
-------
Now the folders!!

Okay, if you've done this before, its straightforward just place the 3 folders somewhere and use FS's Scenery Library to browse to where the scenery is. Add the scenery layers and restart FS2004.

To be more precise! If you have installed FS2004 to the default directory, copy and Paste the files to the following directories:

Cairns
Cairns2k
Cairnsdem
All get copied to- C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\

**NOTE** Of course change C:\ to whatever drive letter you have installed the FS2004 on.

In FS2004 you can put the folders anywhere as long as you can find them.!!

-------
STEP 3:
-------

Scenery Activation

------------------
Start FS2004 and from the opening screen Click on the 'Settings' button. Then on the 'Scenery Library', then select 'Add Area' and browse to where you installed the 3 folders eg...

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\Cairnsdem

When you have found the folder click OK

**NOTE** (Make sure you do this 3 times, ONCE FOR EACH FOLDER)

NOTE***
for what ever reason, I am not sure, maybe its my old machine, but add Cairnsdem first, then Cairns2k, then Cairns (so the Cairns folder is at the top)...then the 2k files display correctly.

eg.

Layer 1. Cairns
Layer 2. Cairns2k
Layer 3. Cairnsdem

Finally click OK again to go back to the opening screen.

Restart FS2004 and select a flight from Cairns and hopefully you the scenery will be there.

STEP 4: (Optional)

AI Traffic
--------

Read the AI_Readme.txt inside the AI_Traffic folder

Positive (and Negative) feedback is always welcome. I would like to do more regional airports across Northern Australia. If you have any aerial photos that could be emailed me, or live in another location and have a digital camera...then I would like to hear from you.
