Lockheed U-2R (TR-1A / ER-2)

by Kazunori Ito

*******************************************************************************

Initial U-2 was designed with the utmost privacy for CIA, and took a picture of facilities in all parts of the world.
The U.S. Air Force and the U.S. army planned manufacturing the strategy surveillance plane for the information gathering of the reconnaissance unit.
As a result, U-2R was newly manufactured and a new name of TR-1 was named to wipe out a doubtful image.
NASA used U-2 to experiment by the high altitude.
As for U-2R, the airframe is large, and the installing ability of the equipment has increased greatly.
Then, NASA bought two U-2R as "ER-2".
Moreover, a long-term debt of TR-1A manufactured for the air force was done.

Will this be a glider?
This is a very graceful, and very dangerous aircraft.
I modeled by only thinking not the use of this aircraft but the grace of shape. There are a lot of option equipment in U-2R, and the silhouette is considerably different as a result.
This time, considerably hesitatingly which type to make when modeling.
Consequently, two models of USAF (Full Option Type and Minimum Option Type) and two models of NASA (Full Option type and Clean option type) were made.
How is you evaluated this select?

[ About the installation ]

The airframe must copy the \U-2R(TR-1A_USAF) and \U-2R(ER-2_NASA) folder as it is in the Aircraft folder of FS2002 or FS2004.

\FS2002(FS2004)
-----\Aircraft
---------\U-2R(TR-1A_USAF)
---------\U-2R(ER-2_NASA)

Please copy all files in the \gauges folder onto the gauge in the Gauges folder of FS2002 or FS2004.
A general gauge is saved for the gauge bundled this time.
Concorde, Beach_baron, EXTRA-300 gauges are necessary besides the bundled gauge.
It is necessary to introduce no possession of these gauges separately.

[ About the directions point in FS2004 ]

This aircraft can be basically used also with FS2004 because it is made with FSDS Ver. 2.24 .
However, the aerofoil tip might not be able to enter in the screen in the spot taking a picture view because of very wide the width of the aircraft.
Please switch to the spot taking a picture view with other aircraft when this state happens seeming this as it is because the magnification switch of the spot taking a picture doesn't operate well.
Afterwards, if this aircraft is chosen by selecting the aircraft, it is sure to be displayed by a normal magnification.
