Retro AI package for RAF Gatow (EDUG) circa 1990.

This package includes full scenery for Royal Air Force Station Gatow and repaints for the 2 DeHavilland Chipmunk T.10 from the RAF Berlin Station Flight.
Also included are weekly flightplans for the 2 Chipmunks.

These aircraft where used to maintain and exercise the British legal right under the Potsdam Agreement to use the airspace over both West and East Berlin.
They were also authorised, at the highest level, on an irregular basis to carry out covert photographic reconnaissance flights.
It would also appear that the aircraft returned from flights with bullet holes from AK47s occasionally!!

RAF Gatow served as an airfield for the British Army's Berlin Brigade, and was prepared to revert to its role as a supply base, if another Berlin Airlift to West Berlin ever became necessary.

- You will need the Chipmunk model by Mike Cronin. This model is available on Avsim as 4_ga_dhc_chipmunk.zip or on SurClaro as 4gadhcch.zip.

Installation:

- Unzip all files from this package to a temporary folder.

- Open the folder Chipmunk.

- copy the texture files from Chipmunk to your AI Chipmunk folder.

- copy the text from aircraft.TXT to the aircraft.CFG in your AI Chipmunk folder.

- make sure the [fltsim.X] entries are following each other in sequence. If your last entry is [fltsim.10] change the next entry in [fltsim.11].

- Open the folder Flightplans.

- copy and paste the file "Traffic EDUG.BGL" into your FS9 scenery/world/scenery folder.

- Open the folder AFCAD.

- copy and paste the file EDUG_ADE9_MB.BGL into your FS9 scenery/Addon scenery/scenery folder.

- Any previously installed Afcads for the above airfield have to be removed/overwritten.

- The scenery for Gatow is made for high performance computers, if you experience low framerates then you can replace the EDUG_ADE9_MB.BGL with the file in the folder "optional".
This is a scenery file with less scenery objects, but it will increase your framerates.

That's it.

We would like to thank:

- Mike Cronin for the Chipmunk model.
- Lee Swordy for TrafficTools.
- The Airport Design Editor team for ADE9X.
- The MAIW team for the use of some of their scenery objects.

Some of the scenery objects will only appear if you have the base model installed. Those models are included in different MAIW packages.
If you do not have these packages the place where the object should be, will be left open. This will not effect the behaviour off the AI aircraft.
We have used objects from the following packages: Luke AFB, McConnel AFB, RAF Coningsby, MCBH Kaneohe Bay, Seymour Johnson AFB and USN/USMC Special Use Mentors.

For questions you can contact us at mvandenboogaard@hotmail.com or brownc936@aol.com

Installation and use of the files is at your own risk but we found no problems using them.

we hope you will enjoy this package.
