QSH9_35 === Laurentians, Phase 1 === Québec Short Hops for FS9
This scenery, includes St. Jovite Airport and also (fictitious) Entrelacs and Lac Manitou.
Might work fine in FS2002 as well but READ the note in the installation. It is free, so worth a try. Lac Manitou and Entrelacs will not list in the 'Go to menu'
NOTE; IF YOU ARE NOT USING GILLES GAUTHIER'S FREEWARE MESH, (see installation below), I have no idea what this scenery will look like.

ALL THE WORK I DO IS FREEWARE. I do not charge for it . However, since I am handicap partially and cannot hold a regular job, I am sure you can appreciate that DONATIONS ARE WELCOME AND APPRECIATED. Please contact me at the addy below.

The Laurentian Mountains are situated just North of Montréal, Qué. Phase 1 is very close to Mont Tremblant, an all seasons paradise for vacationers. The real life scenery is gorgeous and made a lot better in FS with Gilles Gauthier's work on the mesh of this region. It is free, see instructions below.
St. Jovite airport is real. Entrelac and Lac Manitou, are very close by and fictitious.
My rendering of this scenery is fictitious. Just trying to make things look better then the default.
You will find lots of candies on these sites.
========================================
Québec Short Hop and Québec Bush sceneries are aimed at making VFR flying in Québec most pleasant and attractive as I can make it. So far, for FS9, I have created a few sceneries along the St.Lawrence river and also in the Beauce region and also in the Laurentians. These sites are close enough so you can hop from one to the other using the lighthouses and other aids I included.
I also have made other sceneries for the Montréal region.
You can upload any of the sceneries, aircraft and aircraft textures if you make a search at AvSim for author Leon Louis.
If you have a special request, please mail me.

KNOW ISSUES:(those lines are to keep the bug chasers and nit pickers happy
There are lots of candies on this scenery. Look at the pictures to make sure you found them all. No, I will not tell you where they are. Make sure you check also these at night, dusk and dawn.....
Some items may look a few inches in the air. This cannot be fixed but you may not even notice it.
NORTHERN LIGHTS came out great during testing and they should on your computer as well if your settings are adjusted properly. If you have problems or questions about the northern lights, I am sorry but do not think I can be of additional help. Like the real ones, they are not always there, but often come on for a few minutes then fade away to return a bit later.
In the day time, you will not find a runway, just use the grass field as you like. You will find a few bumps and some tall grass to add to reality. Well, they were there...... Please be careful not to hit the kerosene balls (torches) used for lighting a runway at night at Entrelac.
The waterfall will disappear when you are making a water wake on the lake and will reappear when the wake stops. Looks like FS is made this way.
Nit pickers and bug chasers are NOT welcomed to send me their comments. You do not like it, sorry, I will double your money back. Just send me a copy of your invoice.
I create my sceneries in summer recommended for best results.
If I find a way to improve an item or a texture, even if this item or texture is used in a previous release, I reserve the right to change it anytime.

==== N E W ===== special objects installation.
I have decided to use some very nice vehicles and other objects made by Lars Höyer. These also have the advantage of being easy on the frame rate. This way, I can give you more for your money (sic).
You will need to download and install (execute) his file ONLY ONCE for this and all other sceneries using these objects. The name of the file is: ExtraObjects_v1_0.zip and the link to download it is:
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=&Name=&FileName=extraobjects_v1_0.zip&Author=&CatID=Root"
This is very easy to do and should cause you no difficulty. Any question about this file should be directed directly to the creator, Lars Höyer. His addy is in his download file.

I N S T A L L A T I O N FOR ALL MY QUEBEC SHORT HOPS SCENERIES
MESH AND SCENERY ENHANCEMENT: This scenery was made to be compatible and used with Gilles Gauthier's fine FREEWARE mesh and scenery enhancement. To see it properly you must have the following files. Easy to install instructions in the downloads and it will not cost you a cent.
The files you need to install from Gilles Gauthier are:
qclod09a.zip to qclod09e.zip This is the main mesh for the Province. It was made originally for FS2002 but is perfect in FS2004 as well.
and,
IlesStLaurentQC.zip This is the St.Lawrence River islands terrain and scenery enhancement (FS2004 only)
You can get all the files by making a search for author "Gilles Gauthier". I suggest you search for the author's name only and do not specify any category. This way you get the FS2002 and the FS2004 files in one search.
If you do not have a Quebec Short Hops folder "Quebec SH9" where you usually install your sceneries, you must make one and make also one subfolder named scenery and another named texture.
You should then have:
xxxxxxx/Quebec SH9/scenery
/texture
As many of my textures are repeated from one scene to the other, this will use lot less room on your hard drive.
During installation overwrite when prompted to do so.
Place the CONTENTS ONLY of the scenery folder in the above scenery folder you created.
Then, do the same with the CONTENTS ONLY of the texture folder to go into the texture folder.
For FS2004 ONLY,place the CONTENTS ONLY of the addon_scenery folder (if any is included with the download) into:
xxxxxxx/Flight Simulator 9/Addon Scenery/Scenery
(SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR FS2002, DISREGARD THE ABOVE FILE. The airfield will not list in the go to menu. use the map to find it)
Place the CONTENTS ONLY of the effects folder (if any is included with the download) in the Effects folder of your Flight Simulator.
You need to activate Quebec SH9 in the scenery library if not already done.
That is all.
Restart Flight Simulator and welcome to "La Belle Province"
Thank you
Enjoy your visit
Léon Louis
