README

(Click the EDIT menu and select WORD WRAP)

This is a scenery of Parker Canyon Lake in Southern Arizona. Also includes Libby AAF-Sierria Vista Muni. airport. (KFHU). And a fictional grass airstrip high up in the Huachucha Mountains. This is my sixth scenery design.

Parker Canyon Lake is a beautiful lake located on the SouthWestern slope of the Huachucha Mountains. It is located about 12 air miles SW of Sierria Vista, AZ. It is a good fishing lake, and a nice campground is located there. There are docks and a nice Marina-Grocery & Tackle store located on the South end of the lake.

Libby AAF-Sierria Vista Muni airport is part of Fort Huachucha Army Base. The airport is shared with Military and Civilian Aircraft. About 30 percent of the aircraft based there are Military. Nogales airport (KOLS) is located 27 NM. Southwest of Libby, and Tucson Arizona is located 43 NM. Northwest of Libby.

My Patagonia Lake State Park scenery is near Nogales airport. If you have it, it is a nice flight from one lake to the other.

First I want to give special thanks to Mr. Ken "Webad" Nelson, who has spent much of his time away from his own interests in order to teach me scenery design. A certainly very talented man who constantly is on the cutting edge of scenery design.

A special thanks to Dave Malloch, who helped beta test this scenery. Dave is an experienced scenery designer from Canada, Dave has an excelllent scenery that covers the entire Province of Ontario Canada.

Also thanks to Dana McGee, from Seirra Vista, Az. who also beta tested this scenery. Dana designs aircraft, and excellent panels and airfiles. This scenery was designed at his suggestion. Dana also furnished background information.

I want to also thank Tom Hiscox for his efforts in improving Airport 2.60, I used the 100 build to create this scenery, Thanks Tom.
Also I wish to thank Brian Mc Williams and the entire Flight Sim group for the freeware Scenery Design Program Airport 2.10, and Manfred Moldenhauer for the SCASM scenery compiler for FS to be used with the new 2.60 upgrade.

In designing this scenery I used an Intel Celeron 533 mhz with 256 megs of ram, and a 32 Meg Radeon Video Card. The scenery works smoothly on my PC. Please set your scenery complexity display setting to Very dense to view this scenery properly. If you encounter really bad frame rates, you may set your scenery complexity display setting to sparse and should help frame rates, but you will only view basic scenery. If possible you should use very dense.

I want to give special thanks to the following people who furnished the excellent user macros used in this scenery design, These macros are what helps give us the (As real as it gets effect).
Doc George, Ken Nelson,Jim Jackson, Philip Cook,Tom Dickens,Capt. Slug,Mark Remien,Chuck Hall,Ron Ackerly,Jeremia Broughton,Horst Weingartner,Raphael Sanchez,Graham Oxtoby,Peter Tanner,Trevor Stigter,Ray Scott, DanGeis, and Dana McGee.

( INSTALLATION)

"Note", you must have ground shadows unchecked in your display settings for the object macros to appear properly in this scenery.

This scenery has been zipped together in the correct folders provided, to ensure you the best and easiest installation. PLEASE do not remove any files or folders from the PK_CN_LK directory folder. For a PERFECT FULL INSTALLATION of this scenery, PLEASE follow ALL STEPS BELOW.

STEP 1) UN-zip the Pk_Cn_Lk.Zip file to ANY location on your hard drive, FS2000 will read ALL files from anywhere. It would work best for you if you create a 3rd party Scenery " Holding Folder " directly on your C:\drive or whatever drive letter you use. I created a 3rd party scenery holding folder named FSScenery directly on my C:\drive and I place all these type sceneries there. Doing this gives me a nice short hard drive PATH for the next step and it also increases FS2000 performance because your not filling up the default directory folders.

STEP 2) START the FS2000 program then CLICK the WORLD MENU and select the SCENERY LIBRARY option. Then in the Scenery Library window, CLICK the ADD AREA button which will bring up the SELECT SCENERY DIRECTORY window (browser). Now in that window, CLICK the button in the upper LOOK IN box to LOCATE and HIGHLIGHT the Pk_Cn_Lk\scenery folder. Make sure you have the correct PATH to the Pk_Cn_Lk\Scenery directory, the last TWO words in the path should say Pk_Cn_Lk\Scenery. Because I have my holding folder on my C:\drive, my path is C:\FSScenery\Pk_Cn_Lk\ Scenery . Then TYPE: Parker Canyon Lake, in the lower box called the SCENERY AREA TITLE box and CLICK OK, then CLICK again on the GREEN CHECK MARK.

AT THIS POINT, FS2000 WILL INSTALL THE SCENERY AND MAY APPEAR TO GO CRAZY! (THAT'S OK LET IT) AFTER THE SCENERIES ARE INSTALLED, DO NOT GO TO THE SCENERY AREA, INSTEAD, SHUT DOWN AND EXIT FS2000 !

STEP 3) COPY the one, (1), Flatten switch at the bottom of the BELOW EXAMPLE, then go to and open your main FS2000 folder. Once opened, you'll see the Scenery.cfg file although it will only say Scenery. Open that file using your Windows Notepad text editor and SCROLL to the bottom of the list where you'll see the Parker Canyon Lake entry, then PASTE the (1) flatten switch, (from below), to the next line under the entry for " Parker Canyon Lake ".

:EXAMPLE:

[Area.078] <---------- Your area no. goes here.
Title=Parker Canyon Lake
Layer=78
Active=TRUE
Local=C:\FSScenery\Pk_Cn_Lk\scenery
Flatten.0=5517,N31 26.11,W110 27.37,N31 24.56,W110 26.25,N31 24.19,W110 28.37,N31 26.37,W110 28.37

(COPY and PASTE the above Flatten line.)

STEP 4) After you've completed STEP 3, EXIT the SCENERY.CFG file and SAVE the changes.

"INSTALLATION IS NOW COMPLETE"

To locate the scenery while flying, go to the GO TO AIRPORT option in FS2000 and CLICK the button for 6.0 SCENERIES AND BEFORE.
