So you are tired of the dull Flight Plans FS2002 creates?
Well you have a lot of options for applications that can create complex flight plans, but as the case would be there are pretty complex and many can take longer than a overseas flight to setup and use ;> I have tried a good number of these applications and ALL will require reading the instructions (don't you just hate that)... But for those who want the best and easiest free has to offer, this is my opinion only, look at a program called NAV v3. It will require you to read the instructions to get it setup and working right so I am not going to go into all that here, but after a hour or so of fooling around it will allow complex flight plans that are sent right to your FS2002 myflts sub-folder of flights, ready to use. The program will do a lot more, but you need FSUIPC.dll for that and all I wanted was a way to make better flight plans. Also look at TIPS.txt for a bit more info on allowing some flexibility in your IFR flight plans. I would also suggest you do get the 'fancy maps' with NAV as they show better borders and include rivers. The setup help in NAV is not super clear but if you stick with it you will get it setup and then it is easy to use, it is just a matter of extracting the data from FS2002 and then saving it as a database NAV uses.
