Boeing P-26A Peashooter

Extract these files to the hard disk that contains FS2002. The aircraft will appear under the Boeing name.

The P-26A was the first all-metal monoplane fighter to be used by the U.S. Army Air Corps. The first production model flew on January 10, 1934. Early models had no flaps but later models had flaps added to the wing trailing edges. About 159 aircraft were produced in Models A, B and C. They were withdrawn from service just prior to Pearl Harbor. Eleven were sold to China and a few to the Philippines and saw action in WW 2.

This model was created using gmax. Takeoffs are a snap and the aircraft is quite aerobatic. Try snap rolls and four point rolls. Landing is pretty hot because there are no flaps on this version. Start decreasing airspeed early to about 85 to 100 knots. Cut the engine over the runway, hold it off until the speed drops and gradually raise the nose for a 3-point landiing.

I must acknowledge dozens of people worldwide who contributed their knowledge and utilities to me through the various flightsim sites. I am still a novice at flightsim creation so I encourage those more experienced to improve on what I have done. These files are public domain and I attach no legalities to their use.
