FS2002 BAe RJ85 Northwest Airlines

This is an all new model designed from scratch using GMAX. The model has fully animated parts including functional suspension and folding landing gear struts. I have used the original textures by Mike Stone and hopefully improved on them. I have added detailed wing surfaces, improved cabin windows and also more accurate nightlighting. The aircraft was designed by Mike Stone who has done other great aircraft for fs2002 using the new tool G-MAX. I must thank Mike for the aircraft. Patrick Saint Dizier has been a great help trying to get this RJ/146 series of aircraft to handle and fly more realistic. This is the 2nd version of the FDE and hopefully a better flight model. It is suitable for ALL Mike Stones FS2002 RJ aircraft.

I have one obvious bug :O( The protrusions on the upper fuselage are white!) I am affraid this is in the model file and I am unable to change the colour of these. It is not a major problem but that will explain the "whire bits" It wasnt that I ran out of paint :O)

The following was obtained from the RJ/146 Airliner web site. If you have not visited it and like the BAe 146/RJ model then this is a must!

Mesaba Avro RJ85 N509XJ at Detroit (Stefano Pagiola)
On 28 October 1996, Northwest ordered 12 Avro RJ85s, with 24 options, for operation by Mesaba under the Northwest Jet Airlink banner, supplementing the turboprop flights that Mesaba already operated on Northwest's behalf. Operation of the RJ85s by Mesaba would enable Northwest to retire some of its old DC-9-10s, which caused some friction with its pilot union. Mesaba's RJ85s are configured with 16 first class and 53 coach class seats (under the airline's scope clause, Northwest's Airlink operators are restricted to aircraft of less than 70 seats). The first RJ85 was delivered on 24 April 1997, and entered service on 6 June. Additional aircraft have since joined the fleet, at the rate of about one a month. On 21 July 1997, Northwest announced that it was taking up its 24 RJ85 options, bringing its total order to 36. First deliveries of the second batch of RJ85s began in May 1998. During the winter, Mesaba operates RJ85s from Minneapolis to Aspen. Mesaba temporarily ceased operations from 29 August to 16 September 1998, when Northwest Airlines shut down as a result of a strike by its pilots, although Mesaba did operate some RJ85s on charters to shuttle Northwest employees between stations during the strike. Initially, all RJ85s were operated from Mesaba's base at Minneapolis-St.Paul; as additional aircraft were delivered, however, Mesaba also added services from Northwest's hub in Memphis.
