Bitburg lies amoung the hills of the of the Eifel about 50 km north of Trier, Compared to most Air force Bases Bitburg is quite small, but for its entire extenance it was the best assignment in the Air Force. Bitburgs punch came from the 36 Fighter Wing and its 3 Squadrens of F15 Eagles, the 525th, (Bulldogs) Big 22, (Stingers) and the 53rd (Tigers). During Desert Storm Bitburg based aircraft accounted for more Iraqi aircraft then any other unit commited to the theature. (Tyndal being a close secound)
It has been over 15 years sence I was stationed at Bitburg and there are not many pictures of the squadren dispersial areas as they were, this scenery was done from a lot of old memorys and pictures and doucments in my personal files. This scenery also only covers the actual operational area of the base.
This scenery was desgined with Abacus ASD V3, The FSCAD file was made useing AFX.
To install put all the .BGL files into your FS9/addonscenery/scenery directory add the 3 .bmp files to your main FS9/Texture directory. There are start locations in all 3 squadren areas as well as the hot cargo pad and several spots on the main ramps.
This scenery as tested useing German VFR scenery by aerosoft.
This is a work in process and there are some errors. I often wonder if Bitburg had a gulf corse would it be Spangdalem im building today? future sceneries currentaly in work. Soesterberg, Aalborn, Ramstein, and JSB New Orleans.
