Version 1.1 Copyright © Gerald Lindell, 21 Dec 2002 updated using fsds2.

Installation

1. Unzip the file MiG-3.zip in Combat Flight Simulator 2's 'Aircraft' folder. Several sub-folders will also be created.

2. The panel uses stock gauges.

3. By default, the model will use the stock P-38 Lightning's sounds. If you are using in FS2002 you will have to change the sound alias.

4. The "Shift + C" keys opens and closes the canopy.

5. For the payloads we have received permission from Alain Coupet (alaincoupet@wanadoo.fr) to include his

excellent "DAG weapons package". Just unzip and install per his readme.txt file. If you have problems with the weapon pack installed get the original form the DAG site; http://cfsfrance.altajeux.com/DAG/

This package is FREEWARE. No parts of this plane may be used or files altered for this plane or other planes without my permission.

New skins can be done without permission but only the skins may be uploaded. You must call them "repaints". If you would like to

upload the whole plane with your repaints ask my permission. They must still be designated as repaints and no plane files may be altered,

including the readme.txt! Although I have done extensive testing I do not guarantee anything. Use this plane at your own risk!

See my site dedicated to my father-in-law, Ray Johnson, who flew P-38's for the 67th fs, www.members.tripod.com/warbirdlover/index.html. Check out gramps site at flightsimmers.net/airbase/gramps/MAIN.html

Plane information

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-3 was the 2nd model of the MiG series with improvements in better armament, new propeller and self sealing tanks.

It was designed as an excellent high altitude intercepter but unfortunately most confrontations were at much lower altitude where the MiG-3 was at a disadvantage.

It was also a very difficult handling airplane. There were 3,120 built, most with two 30 inch mg and one .50 inch mg. This plane represents one

of the frequent planes armed with two .30 inch mg and one 20mm cannon.

The Mikulin AM-35A Vee engine which was the only engine used in the prop versions of MiG fighters. Others engine tests never were completed.

The MiG-3 was a small size fighter compared to most.
