-------------------------------Mil Mi-8TB [29/07/02]---------------------------------------
*******************************************************************************************

< FS2002 tested only!!!! >

This is my third helicopter, the Mil Mi-8 (assault variant). I have decided to bring out at least two variants of this helicopter, which reflects the way it has been used, and is still used today, throughout Russia and many other countries. In many air forces, the mi-8 is used as a transport and as a gunship, but it also fullfills other roles such as ASW (Anti-Submarine Warfare) and SAR (Search And Rescue). Mi-8's are also used in civillian walks of life. Aeroflot used them extensively. This example is an assault variant, of the kind that were used in afghanistan, and sports four chain guns on the weapon racks and a nose gun, fired by the pilots. I am thinking of bringing out an aeroflot Mi-8, but that is not definate yet.

-----------------------------------Faults:

1. No suspension

--> Wow!!!!! only one fault, I must be either getting better at making choppers, or worse at finding faults!!

-----------------------------------Flying:

This chopper is very easy to fly, I don't know how realistic it is though.

-----------------------------------Legal Stuff:

If you are going to mess around with the textures or anything, feel free, but please contact me (dominic@russian-helicopters.co.uk) and do not upload without this file and my permission.

-----------------------------------Credits:

Ok, Ok, I forgot to add this section to my first two choppers (mi-10 and mi-4) so these credits are for all three:

Thanks to:

All the guys on the Freeflight Design Shop forum who helped me - without them I would have given up ages ago!!

Mostyn Gale - his model of the Mi-8 was a great help to me in producing this one.

Klaus D. Werr (from the rotorhead.org) - I used the flight dynamics of his Mi-6 for my Mi-10. Also, thanks for his advice on aircraft design.

-----------------------------------Future Projects:

I am hoping to bring out more Mil Design Bureau helicopters in the future. My next Project could be the Mil Mi-8 (aeroflot version), although I am working on a Kamov Ka-50 (Hokum / Black Shark). I do not currently plan to release the Hokum, but if I get enough people e-mailing me asking me to, then I might. Primarily, I am making the Hokum to get a feel of how to make an attack chopper, so that I can make a really good go of the Mi-24 (Hind). So please feel free to e-mail me with your comments on this helicopter, previous helicopters, or requests regarding future projects - basically, just e-mail me with any comments you may have!!!! My e-mail address is below (you can use either one they are both directed to the same place).
