'Melbourne & Surrounds v3.0' provides visual scenery for Melbourne, Australia, for use in both MS Flight Simulator FS2002 and FS2004.
The scenery covers the Melbourne City, suburban areas and outlying areas such as the Mornington Peninsula, Great Ocean Road and Latrobe Valley.
Included are skyscrapers, stadiums, freeways, major roads, bridges, shopping centres, parks and towers. The scenery also includes accurate placement of all outlying suburbs and the Lower Yarra River. Now included is the Crown Casino, MCG upgrade (including Northern Stand), Arts Centre, Tennis Centre and Southbank Area.
This scenery does not improve existing airports or add any airports, as other scenery files are available online for this.
This scenery was produced with the aid of John Cillis' Landclass Assistant v1.3, Iain Murray's Coast-Line-Make v2.0 and Matthais Bruckner's Easy Object Designer v2.0.
2.0 DISTRIBUTION
This scenery is distributed as a FREEWARE product available for free use by all flight simmers. This scenery or any portion of this scenery may not be used in any commercial or shareware product. Charging a fee for the distribution of this product is not permitted.
3.0 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ENHANCE THIS SCENERY
This scenery is greatly enhanced by SatPac Victorian Terrain, available for download from the website at www.SurClaro.com (file search for 'Victoria.zip'). The SatPac scenery adds realistic mountain ranges and hills for eastern Victoria, and downloading the SatPac scenery is highly recommended for use in conjunction with Melbourne & Surrounds v3.0.
4.0 INSTALLATION
a. Remove the previous version 'Melbourne & Surrounds V1.0 or v2.0' (if you are currently using it).
b. Extract the zip file into the FS2002/2004 Add-on Scenery folder. All other files and directories are self-extracting.
c. Start FS2002/2004, and Click on 'World Menu', then 'Scenery Library'
d. Click on 'Add Area' and choose the FS2002/2004 folder Addon-Scenery\Melbourne1.
e. Click on 'Add Area' and choose the FS2002/2004 folder Addon-Scenery\Melbourne2.
f. Click on 'Add Area' and choose the FS2002/2004 folder Addon-Scenery\Melbourne3.
g. Press OK and return to the FS2002/2004 program. Melbourne & Surrounds v3.0 should be installed into FS2002/FS2004.
5.0 IMPORTANT NOTE FOR FS2004 USERS: DUPLICATE BUILDINGS
The default FS2004 scenery includes the following buildings: Rialto, WestGate Bridge, MCG and Melbourne Central. Users of FS2004 have the option of either using the default FS2004 buildings, or using buildings supplied in 'Melbourne and Surrounds v3.0'.
Option1- To use default FS2004 buildings: Delete the files RIALTO.BGL, WESTGATE.BGL, MCG.BGL, MELBCENT.BGL from the Addon-Scenery\Melbourne1 directory
Option2- To use the Rialto, WestGate Bridge, MCG and Melbourne Central supplied in 'Melbourne and Surrounds v3.0': Disable the default FS2004 Melbourne Scenery. Go to 'World Menu' and 'Scenery Library', then find the default FS2004 Melbourne Scenery and deselect it.
Note: If Option1 or Option2 is not carried out, this may result in duplicate buildings (eg. two Rialtos, two MCGs) being displayed.
