This is my second gmax aircraft. My three-view source was a line drawing 4.2 by 2.4 inches (10.7 by 6.1 centimeters). There is a good amount of assumption and imagination in the construction of this model. My best source of detail came from photos taken by Martin Waligorski and published by IPMS Stockholm. The photos of the Lysander Mk III were taken at the Royal Air Force Museum in Hendron, London. Although I could not use the photos for my paint job, they inspired me to use my imagination and create a similar paint scheme.

The panel background is a repainted background of the original done by John McGuigan for his Lysander for FS98. The instrumentation is my own arrangement and unlike my first aircraft offering, I have used gauges that are from standard Microsoft default aircraft. These gauges are available to all FS2002 owners. Although better sound files exist, I aliased the standard Sopwith Camel file to keep the upload files smaller.

The Mk IIISCW version used for clandestine operations had the auxilliary fuel tank in the cabin. I included it in the model. It gave the aircraft a 1400 mile (2253 km) range or 8 hours of flight time. I doubted that any flightsimmers would try such a mission so I did not include it in the fuel system. The aircraft cfg file and the panel cfg could be modified to include a third tank if desired.

The aircraft flies very nicely with hands-off at any trim setting. It is very stable and easy to land. The flaps are very responsive and effective allowing good slow speed characteristics. The aircraft is equipped for night flying and lights are operated from the panel switches.

If the external view from the cockpit does not fill the windshield, pull the bottom edge of the external view down to fill out the windows. If the engine doesn't want to start using the magneto start switch on the panel, select the engine icon on the panel to bring up the engine controls. Move the mixture lever up from the cutoff position.

I am placing these files in public domain.
