General information
-------------------
LEEUWARDEN RNlAF AB is the home base of the 322 'Polly Grey' squadron, the 323 'Diana' squadron, as well as the SAR unit of the Royal Dutch Air Force. The air base is situated approx a mile NW of Leeuwarden, the capitol of the province of Friesland. Leeuwarden is the 'Fighter Town' of European NATO forces and many deployments taking part in excersises on- and north of the Wadden-isles, situated in the NW part of the Netherlands, while based on EHLW. In this scenery you will find 2 USAF F15-E's and 2 RAF Tornado F3 on the night illuminated X/servicing flight line, as well as some USAF F-16A's in frant of the shelters. On the north (322'nd) flight line you will find other visitors: 2 RAF Phantom's. The 323 sqaudron is situated along the south flight line, west of the control tower. The SAR unit is based on the X/servicing flight line (Do not expect the SAR Agusta Bell 412 SP choppers overthere: they are on a mission to the isle of Vlieland!). Many of the Leeuwarden shelters can be found on this scenery.

All the items ar built on the exact location. The ELEV is 4 and the ARP is 53°13'57"N 005°45'22", center and middle of the runway 06 - 24. Approach lighting is provided (MALSR) on 06 - 24 as well as the 3° VASI, The 09 - 27 does have only border line lighting. Approach Control is avialable on 122.1, Leeuwarden Tower can be reached on 120.1. The VOR station, situated near the approach radar, is transmitting on 114.7. Leeuwarden AFB is still equipped with TACAN (CH94) and I did not force this by providing you a non existing ILS. So, find this airbase by using 114.7 and your qualifications to fly your plane!
Just north of the base, you will find the rifle range, in the earlier years used to test and adjust the Vulcan guns of the F-104's.

Installation
------------
Unzip the package in your Flight Simalator Scenery directory. Just in case you missed something, I provided the textures in the 'FS98 Texture' dierctory. Please, copy this files to your FS98 Texture directory if you don't have these files already. Activate the scenery in your Scenery library as 'local scenery' with a low layer number. That's all.

And next
--------
When the time is there (end of this millennium?) you may expect more scenery of the nice province of Friesland. Planned items are the Drachten airstrip, MVK De Kooy and in 2D the cities/villages of Leeuwarden, Harlingen, Heerenveen, Sneek, Drachten, Lemmer, Dokkum and some minor villages and specialties. All to make the flying theatre recognizable.

Special thanks to...
--------------------
...the crew of Airport version 2.10 and former versions and ofcourse Inglish Warmouth (read the ? of Aiprort 2.10). Also my speacial thanks to Acle Kahney, who provided the static aircaft scenery objects and Jeroen van Zanten for beta-testing.
