FS2002 aircraft

KZ-IV "Zonen" v3.0
by Ole Egholm.

The KZ-4 is a Danish vintage aircraft build by Kramme and Zeuthen.
OY-DIZ is still flying, and is a part of the Danish vintage Aircraft
collection in Stauning. It can be seen every year at the annual
airshow; the KZ-rally.

Install:

1. Unzip in your /aircrafts- folder (enable use folder-option in WinZip)

2. move kz4.cab to the FS2002/gauges dir. (do not unzip it!!!)

Features:

-Fully animated model; all control surfaces, flaps, and door

-Authentic textures, made from photes.

-Photorealistic panel:
Almost all gauges are custom made and photorealistic. Some have metric readouts.
(Airspeed readout in Km/h only and oil pressure is in Kg/Cm2)
All switches (exept fuel gauge light)
The panel is lighted at night

-Virtual panel (I can’t figure out how to make mixture lever and rudder
animations – the tags doesn’t seem to work)

-Other FS2002 features; lights, spinning props, effects etc.

-The flight dynamics are somewhat better than the previous version. Shorter t/o dist. Required to match the STOL cababilities of the real airfraft. I only have a few informatione on the aerodynamics of the KZ4, and I\ve never flown in it, so these aerodynamics are not 1000% correct.
Be gentle when applying brakes, or you'll get a nose-over.
Elev. Trim must be above neutral for takeoff and landing. (See markings)

- Realistic startup sequence.
(See below)

ALL READOUTS ARE METRIC! (apart from altitude.)

I have simulated the present status of the cockpit:

The ADF is inoperative, and there is no VOR gauge, althougt a reciver
is installed. Only VFR flights possible.

The engines can be started by turning the props by hand, but it’s normal to use the starter buttons. They are under the avionics.

The gauge between the two fire handles is some sort of pressure indicator in a fire extinguisher system, which no longer is connected. I placed a clock instead.

The handle left of the throttles is pitch trim, use the markings for t/o trim setting.

Flap handle is left of the captains seat; only visible in the virtual cockpit.

The avionics and com. are newer than authentic KK1758 TSO system, I don’t know how to simulate that.

To an start engine:

Set parking brake.

Turn on bat., Gen. And Beacon.

Set mixture full rich.

Press the right side of the switch to cycle contacts:

Off – Left – Right – Both (Kontakt).
Press left side for the opposite.

For startup, contacts chould be set to both (Konkakt).

Move throttle up 2-3 cm.

Press the starter button (under the two red plates) until the engine catches.
(Yes, you can use the contakt switches for ignition, but that’s unrealistic. I don’t know how to disable the ignition feature in the contact switch)

Don’t set throttles to idle right away, the engine may “die out”.
If you use the mouse to adjust throttle and mixture, drag the mouse up or down inside the areas.

From left to right:

1 Left engine mixture
2 Left engine throttle
3 both engines throttle
4 Right engine throttle
5 Right engine mixture

I'll update the virtual model if I can find the original KZ IV - drawings.
Until then the visual model will not be 100% correct.
The plane uses default FS2002 sounds.

although the museum was closed and supplying panel info.
