Installation Instructions for the Marine One Helicopter at the White House and optionally at Andrews Air Force base.

1. Unzip the archive to a temporary folder - perhaps on your Desktop.

When Unzipped, you should have the follow folder and files:

a. A Folder named KADW AFCAD for Default FS9 scenery.

b. A Folder named KADW AFCAD if using MAIW enhancement.

c. A Folder named Marine One at White House.

d. A Folder named MarineOne - AI - Static.

e. A file name Instructions.txt (you are reading it now)

f. A file named readme.txt (required by DL sites)

g. A file named file_id.txt and one named file_id.diz (required by DL sites).

h. Three jpg files (screenshots).

2. Place a copy of the entire folder named MarineOne - AI - Static into your Flight Simulator 9 / Aircraft folder.

Note: This is specially tweaked STATIC version ONLY - it is NOT flyable and will NOT work as an AI aircraft.

3. Place a copy of the entire folder named Marine One at White House into your Addon scenery folder or wherever you keep scenery enhancements.

4. If you are NOT using the MAIW enhancement of Andrews Air Force base, place the file named AF2_KADW_M1_DEFAULT_Opa.bgl (which is in the folder named KADW AFCAD for Default FS9 scenery) into your Addon scenery/scenery subfolder OR the scenery subfolder of Marine One at White House.

5. If you ARE using the MAIW enhancement, search your system for a file named MAIW_AF2_KADW_DEFAULT_DB_MG.bgl.

When you find it, disable it by renaming it to something like MAIW_AF2_KADW_DEFAULT_DB_MG.bgl.ORIG

Replace the file you just renamed with the file named MAIW_AF2_KADW_DEFAULT_DB_MG_Opa.bgl which is in the folder named KADW AFCAD if using MAIW enhancement.

NOTE: THe ONLY change I have made to the original MAIW afcad was to add a dedicated parking spot for the Marine One Helicopter.

NOTE: Use only ONE of the two supplied Afcads for KADW - depending upon your present setup.

6. Start FS2004 and add (activate) the new scenery entry named Marine One at White House in the usual manner via the Scenery Library dialogue.

7. Exit FS2004 and restart it so the new entry is indexed and ready for use.

You can start at Reagan National Airport (KDCA) and fly or slew over to the Capital Building / White House area to find Marine One - or start at Andrews Air Force Base (KADW) and fy or slew around.

Either way, you should find Marine One waiting to fly the President to Camp David or to or from Andrews Air Force base.

---------------------------------------------

NOTE:

The appearance of a "static" Helicopter is achieved by creating a dedicated parking spot which is not connected to a taxiway and creating a Traffic file which has the Helicopter "flying" only once a week - in the wee hours of the morning when FS2004 is not likely running. Since it really never "flys", it appears to be a static display.

NOTE: A flyable version of the Marine One Helicopter can be downloaded from SurClaro.com or SurClaro. The file name at both sites is marine1.zip.
