The original gauges and bitmaps needed for this panel configuration are copyrighted and intellectual property of their creators. Thus, we didn´t include any copyrighted material in this download but a new bitmap for the 2D panel yoke, courtesy of Carenado Corp. It shouldn´t (actually it may not) be included in any other package or distributed elsewhere without their written permission.

You will need two additional addons for this panel to work: Dreamfleet´s C177 Cardinal (installed) and the original Dreamfleet C172 panel. I think it was exclusively uploaded to www.SurClaro You can download either the separate panel (filename is df1721_0.zip) or the bundle with Mike Hambly´s sound package (although realAir´s aren´t bad, either) and FSD´s aircraft (filename is dfsdc172.zip)

We have been inspired to rework this classic panel by RealAir Simulation´s awesome flight dynamics for the C172SP. While not required for this panel to work, it shouldn´t be missed out under any circumstance. But I´m sure you´ll have downloaded it by now anyway. Just in case you haven´t, the filename to download the package from www.SurClaro.com is realair172sp.zip Install as described in the readme text.

Search for the cardinal´s panel folder, you´ll find it here (unless you changed it)

hdd:\...\FS2002\aircraft\Flight One C177\panel

Copy and paste all the bitmaps (*.bmp) of the C177 to your new C172´s panel folder. If you use the default C172, make a backup of the original panel folder first. If you use RealAir´s panel you don´t necessarily have to, it can be restored easily. We won´t need all of them, but you may clean up later. If you plan to use the default C172 with this panel and use it to start FS2002, please choose another default flight before you continue with this installation. After you are done, fire up the sim with your new default flight and switch to your new C172. This flight can then be saved as default flight again. A good explanation why this detour is necessary can be found in the original documentation.

The original Dreamfleet C172 panel is downloaded in a zip.file that contains a gauges and a panel folder, unzip as you´ll have done a zillion times before to a temporary directory. I refuse to explain where you have to copy the gauges to ;-) Copy and paste the bitmaps of the panel folder to your new C172´s panel folder, as well. If you have downloaded the complete package (dfsdc172.zip) install it to a temporary directory (for example c:\temp172) and proceed with the gauges and panel folders as above.

Finally copy the "My Yoke.bmp" and "panel.cfg" files of this download to your new C172´s panel folder and you are done!
