CAUTION:

This panel has only been tested with fs2002 PRO, but passed with soaring colours on a 233MHZ PC with 3DFX video card.

INSTALLATION

Follow these steps:

1. MOST IMPORTANT: Back-up your original panel.cfg. found in the panel folder of your aircraft.

2. Copy all gauges in the gauge folder from this zipfile into the \gauges folder of your fs2K. Choose not to overwrite any existing gauges.

3. Copy panel.cfg, rug.bmp, left.bmp, right.bmp and bay.bmp files from the zipfile into the \panel folder of your Orbiter.

4. Use Shift+Any no. keys to switch CRT displays when you're in the pilot's seat.

5. Press 5 on the keypad to remove unsightly leftover images when switching fixed views.

6. The HUD is ornamental as I don't see the point in having a close-up view, cos you'll miss the excitement of being in the cockpit. You can add your own close up HUD if you like as there's still room for more panel views. HUD on/off is Shift-7.

7. Prepare the bottom-most CRT display as described below.

Operating the Orbital Situation Map Display (CRT)

To operate the OSM requires some important preparations.

1. When you first enter your plane, the OSM CRT display is blank, ie. a hole in the panel. Don't worry just follow these steps:

2. Press ALT, to get the drop-down menu of FS2K2, select NEW VIEW and top-down. A new window will appear showing a cross in the middle. Alternatively you can just type Shift+] . Reduce the size of the new window by dragging and slide it under the square hole of the oSM in the bottom middle of the panel and you will see the map showing through the hole. Make sure the map is slightly larger than the hole.

3. Align the cross to be in the middle. Zoom in or out using the - or = keys.

4. If you find that you are unable to use your joystick to switch to other views, that's because you haven't switch to COCKPIT view as you are still selecting the MAP view although the MAP view is small. TAKE NOTE of this fact. Always select the cockpit view (from drop-down menu or clicking on panel) when you're flying, and only select MAP view when you want to ZoOM in or out.
