This scenery has been zipped together in the correct folders provided, to ensure you the best and easiest installation. For a PERFECT FULL INSTALLATION of this scenery, PLEASE follow ALL STEPS BELOW.

STEP 1) UN-zip the file to ANY location on your hard drive. FS2000 will read ALL files from there. I create a 3rd party scenery "holding folder" directly on my C:\drive and I place all these type sceneries there. Doing this gives me a nice short PATH for the next step.

STEP 2) START the FS2000 program then CLICK the WORLD MENU and select the SCENERY LIBRARY option. Then in the Scenery Library window, CLICK the ADD AREA button which will bring up the SELECT SCENERY DIRECTORY window (browser). Now in that window, CLICK the button in the upper LOOK IN box to LOCATE and HIGHLIGHT the North_View/Scenery folder. Make sure you have the correct PATH to the North_View/Scenery directory, the last TWO words in the path should say North_View/Scenery. Because I have my holding folder on my C:\drive, my path is C:\FSScenery\North_View\Scenery . Then TYPE: North View in the lower box called the SCENERY AREA TITLE box and CLICK OK then CLICK the GREEN CHECKMARK.

AT THIS POINT, FS2000 WILL INSTALL THE SCENERY AND MAY APPEAR TO GO CRAZY! (THAT'S OK LET IT) AFTER THE SCENERY IS INSTALLED, DO NOT GO TO THE SCENERY AREA. INSTEAD, SHUT DOWN AND EXIT FS2000.

STEP 3) After you exit FS, COPY the below Flattening Switch text:Flatten.0=2044,N63 48.80,W149 51.43,N63 48.67,W149 50.79,N63 48.13,W149 51.35,N63 48.28,W149 52.03

Then go to and open your main FS2000 folder, once opened, you'll see the Scenery.cfg file although it will only say Scenery. Open that file using your Windows Notepad text editor and SCROLL to the bottom of the list where you'll see the North_View entry, then PASTE the Flattening Switch you copied above on the next line under the entry for " North_View ".

:EXAMPLE:

[Area.116] <----your area number goes here
Title=North_View
Layer=116 <----your layer number goes here
Active=TRUE
Local=C:\FSScenery\North_View\Scenery <----your path goes here
Flatten.0=2044,N63 48.80,W149 51.43,N63 48.67,W149 50.79,N63 48.13,W149 51.35,N63 48.28,W149 52.03

STEP 4) After you've completed STEP 3, SAVE the changes and exit the SCENERY.CFG file.

"INSTALLATION IS NOW COMPLETE"

To locate the scenery while flying, go to the GO TO AIRPORT option in FS2000 and CLICK the button for FS95 AND BEFORE.

The basics of this "INSTALL" were borrowed from Ken Nelson who has proven to me that this is the better way to install scenery to keep it away from the actual FS game. If you do it this way and you have to reinstall FS2000, you won't loose all the textures and the sceneries. You will just have to add them in again. This will save a great amount of time and effort. Of course, if you loose your "C" drive, nothing will matter!!! Don Moser / Alaska By Don
