PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

This scenery can change with the four seasons on command. It has been found that for example, fall starts on Sept 22. The default ground texture does not change (snow wise) until October21. What will show that month is a snow covered runway surrounded by green grass!. The way FS2000 reads these changes is by a code after the textures. What I have found is when you go to World, Seasons and click on fall, winter, etc., it puts you right in the middle of the two seasons. Example being, hit fall, and you will find yourself on Nov 5, exactly the midpoint between the first day of fall and the first day of winter. The scenery will be correct. There is no known way to get this to follow the FS2000 schedule exactly that I know of. If there is, I would certainly appreciate being made aware of it! Just pick the season in the "World" section that you want to fly in and the scenery will match that in appearance. Here is a schedule that I have made up that shows when things start to happen: MY SCENERY DEFAULT SPRING: MARCH 20 APRIL 18-changes to green grass from snow SUMMER:JUNE 21 MAY 19-changes to spring JUNE 19-changes to summer FALL:SEPTEMBER 22-Runways and buildings change SEPTEMBER 19-ground changes to to lightly covered snow fall colors WINTER:DECEMBER 22-Trees change to winter; OCTOBER 21-ground changes to snow runway and buildings get a heavier covering of snow; lake freezes over Also, you must take into consideration the amount of daylight in the winter months in Alaska. When you get to December, it gets dark very early. But as seen in the schedule above, as you move closer from winter to spring, the days will get longer and the winter conditions will still show, but you will have more and brighter sunlight. Compare what the scenery looks like on January 1st and March 1st. You can play with the dates in between and see when you want to fly and set your calendar accordingly. Same goes with the other seasons. I wish they could be coordinated to all match. Like I said before, just pick the season and click on it in the WORLD menu. If you want the earliest or latest part of the season, use the above guide and select your date in the WORLD menu. Spring and summer are very close in appearence. The spring runway has more dirt, whereas the summer texture has some green grass in it. The fall runway and buildings have some snow on them. The winter textures are full snow on the runway and on the houses, with the lake being frozen over. I hope you can see how things work with this. Play around with the dates and you'll see what I mean!! I hope you enjoy it. Don Moser / Alaska By Don
