Hi there,

this is the updated Hoodriver-Bridge Scenery for FS2004,
with corrected orientation for Holger Sandmanns cr_gorge-scenery.
It's a free interpretation of the original bridge,
crossing the Columbia River north of 4S2.

One of the biggest problem of the FS default-bridge, it wasn't landable.
This is solved, you can land along the bridge on the asphalt, as you like.
Also I made the 2 iron towers landable with invisible platforms, covering
the whole top, so you won't have to hit it a 100 percent.
Nevertheless it's a bit tricky, as you won't have much visual reference up there
for a good landing, so I suggest you to land perpendicular to the platform
so you can see a bit of the top to your left and right.
Lots of geometry has removed chrashboxes to ease most of the landing trouble.

I tested the bridge with several choppers, some with skids and some
with wheels, to ensure it's working fine,
e.g. the default Bell 206, Eurocopter Tiger, AH64 Apache.
Thanks to all the great designers out there.

Also thanks to all of you at hovercontrol (www.hovercontrol.com) for this incredible spirit.
I wan't to mention especially Alun (airprox) for his intense help with a
couple of problems I had in GMAX.

BTW, I made the bridge high enough for ships to get through, even the USCG Cutter
will fit (as it's antennas won't collide with the road ;-) ).
So the Coastguard can now protect the area around Hoodriver.

The scenery consists of 3 LOD-Levels, from 3000 to 13000 polyogon for your viewing pleasure.
I get a framerates of 30-40 fps with the default-bell and other scenery in that area on my own system,
which is a AMD 1,8GHz with a Geforce 4200Ti.
As I think most of you do have similar or better machines, this should be acceptable.

Location:
From 4S2 fly heading 010 to Columbia-river.

Hope you like it, comments are welcome, the good and the bad ones, too.
as this is my first scenery at all.

Installation:--------------------------------------

-Unzip the files with relative pathes to 'yourFlighsimDir\Addon Scenery\'
-Start FS9, go to Settings->Scenery Library-> Add Area
-Now go to Addon Scenery, click once on HRBridge_gc and click 'OK'
-Close and restart FS9.
-If you had the old HRBridge installed before, remove that folder first.
or alternativly unpack the content of scenery-folder into that HRBridge/Scenery-folder (which is only HRBridge.BGL).
Textures have been untouched.

Known bugs:-----------------------------------------

-Occasionally you can see through the outer and center pillars.
-Lightpoles disappear occasionally.
-The textures could be better packed. well, much better.
-If you're landing on the two iron-towers without going straight down but approaching it more from the side
geometry will eventually cut through your cockpit.
