First, I wish to thank Adrian Wright for allowing me to use his AFCAD files. Much time saved!
This land class covers all of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and all of the Fiji Islands that I could find in FS9.
I contacted Adrian Wright who created many fine AFCAD airports for most of the islands and he gave me permission to put them in this package. I also discovered a number of locations that have airports that are not listed by ICAO. Most of them are dirt or grass runways. NF01 is located on the island of Naituba and was privately owned by Raymond Burr. It has a small 2000 foot runway. I found two other unlisted runways, NF02 and NF03 and added them to the scenery too. I added missing runways that were not included in Adrian's package. Many are on remote islands. There are now 25 new and 5 FS9 default runways.
A list of all of the airports and their locations are located in the Fiji Airports folder.
IMPORTANT:
Fijifix.zip by Jim Keir is available to correct elevation errors in the default mesh. This is not essential as the AI aircraft are not affected, but is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you intend to visit Moala, otherwise your altimeter will read -50' on the ground!
INSTALLATION:
Unzip the Fiji_Lca file into a temporary folder. Copy the enclosed Fiji_Lca folder into your Flightsimulator9/Addon Scenery folder and activate the new area in your FS2004 Library.
The AFCAD files are enclosed in two folders, Airstrips Original and Fiji Airports. I am using FSGenesis Terrain Mesh and I use the AFCAD'S from the Fiji Airports folder. I have not tested the airports with the default Microsoft terrain. There should be no problem using the Fiji Airports folder with the default terrain. The Fiji Airports folder contains all of the airports created by Adrian and myself. I recommend using the AFCAD's in the Fiji Airports folder first. If any of them do not work properly with your terrain mesh test the AFCAD files from the Airstrips Original folder one at a time. They are the original AFCAD runways created by Adrian.
AFCAD file installation:
Be sure to check your flightsimulator9/AddonScenery/Scenery folder for duplicate files if your are using other Fiji scenery programs. You can use them or put them in a temporary folder before you install my airports.
Copy the AFCAD and exclude files into your Flightsimulator9/AddonScenery/scenery folder and restart FS9. The new runways should then be ready to use.
The modified Raw and Inf files are included so you can change the land class if you have the proper software.
