Fife Airport scenery for FS2004 (FS9)

This small Airport is now run by Thistle Aviation who intend to increase the length of the runway and build more hangars.

Fife Airport was opened in 1982 near the new town of Glenrothes The road system surrounding the Airport forms a convenient visual marker for the approach used by the local pilots as does the Fife Constabulary Complex and the Golf Clubhouse. The ‘Tipsy Nipper Restaurant’ is a well-known watering hole and eating place in the Kingdom of Fife. Both the Airport and surrounding terrain are quite hilly. Due to the limitations of Flight Simulator, I have flattened the former. The contours of the surrounding hills are improved by the addition of a suitable mesh, the only drawback being the presence of 'cliffs' at some edges of the flattened area.

As Fife Airport is not, to my knowledge, operational after dark, I have not included night textures in this scenery, although the diners, the golfers and the police will still be busy.

Installation. Extract the file 'Fife_FS9.zip' to your FS2004/addon scenery directory. The folder 'Fife_FS9' and its subfolders 'scenery' and 'texture' will be created. There is no need for any Flatten or Exclude commands for this scenery as these have been incorporated in the bgl files. Ensure that you have included the VOD30 and Airport supplementary texture files (not supplied) in your main Texture directory. I have not included the necessary Gerrish Gray's trees_v3.zip, which must be downloaded separately.
The scenery is,of course, compatible with 'Scotflight'published by VisualFlight, the only proviso being that, when activated in the Settings_Scenery Library section, the Fife scenery is placed higher up than the 'Scotflight' scenery.

Lastly, because of the photographic detail incorporated in this scenery, a modern (fastish) computer is required to keep framerates up.
