Houston William P. Hobby Airport...KHOUv1.0 3-13-05

This scenery represents how Houston's William P. Hobby Airport will look by the end of 2005.

Various enhancements have been incorporated:

Concourses B and C have been replaced by a new Central Concourse. The new councourse has 24 gates for Southwest Airlines. I was only able to incorporate 23 gates due to space limitations.

Concourse A has been redesigned and redesignated the East Concourse. There are 9 gates with jetways and 3 regional gates.

Ramp lights and street lamps have been placed throughout the airport.

Added the 4 main roads that border the airport...Airport Blvd on the north side, Telephone Rd. on the west side, Monroe Rd on the east side and Braniff St on the south side.

The main terminal also includes the parking garage and departure and arrival levels.

Added the starnet platform that houses the VOR transmitter.

Added the Hilton hotel at the intersection of Airport and Monroe.

Added Westwood College of Aviation at the SW corner of the airport.

Added the Southwest Airlines and Continental Airlines maintenance Facilities.

Adeed the old HOU tower/terminal which is now a museum.

Terminal ramp has been extended south to facilitate the new terminal.

Added static AC at Westwood College, the SWA hangar, and the COA hangar, Also place a Super Connie in front of the old tower.

Runway 4 has been redesignated as Cat II/III. The approach lights have been upgraded from MALSR to ALSF-2 to reflect the modification. The strobes on the MALSR on 12R have been disabled as per info gained from www.airnav.com as well as the VASI on 17.

Also added ILS, localizer and DME antennae.

Static vehicles include fire trucks at the fire station, pushbacks at the gates and fuel trucks placed at the fuel farm on the NW corner of the field.

I have included an AFCAD for the airport.

I have added a few other things to the scenery, so feel free to slew around to find it all.

Special thanks goes to the following:

Mike Grainger for his initial work on the terminal complex
Chris Grall for his COA and SWA Hangar textures
Steve Whalin for the old tower and rotating beacon atop the Williams Tower, which is located 15SM west of the airport.
Lee Swordly for his excellent AFCAD program
Chris Arrington for AEU7

If I have forgotten to thank anyone for their contributions to this scenery, please accept my thanks and apologies.

Please note this scenery was created using RWY12 object placer, Aiport for Windows, and Scenegen X. The terminal and maintenance hangars were created using EOD.

I have included most if not all of the textures for this scenery, however I do advise having RWY12 installed.
