RECOMMENDED ADDONS:

- Addon mesh is not required, but complimentary to, this scenery. Ultimate Terrain 2004 ensures roads and terrain details match up properly with the scenery. Without Ultimate Terrain, no river detail appears nearby. This will obviously detract from the overall effect of adding the scenery in the first place (e.g., the USS Slater will appear drydocked).

INSTALLATION:

1) Extract/unzip the main folder "Albany_FS9_v1.zip" to a location other than directly into FS2004 (e.g., to desktop).

2) Copy the enclosed folder "Albany_FS9" into the Addon Scenery folder within FS2004.

3) Extract/unzip the main folder "Agen_XTrees_lib9_2.zip" to a location other than directly into FS2004 (e.g., to desktop).

4) Open the resultant folder and look for the file named "Agen_XTrees_lib9_2.BGL". Copy this into the FS2004>Scenery>Generic>Scenery folder.

5) If not using Ultimate Terrain, the bridge modifications provided may be used. Open the folder named "BridgeMods", the cut & paste the enclosed files "0_Albany_Bridge_Exclude_VTPX.BGL" and "Albany_New_Bridge.bgl" into the "scenery" subfolder, within the main folder "Albany_FS9".

6) Activate the new scenery through the Settings option in FS2004 (e.g., browse/navigate to the location of the Albany folder) and check to enable it. Upon restarting FS2004, a message should appear stating that scenery files are being updated. This indicates that the scenery has "taken" and is ready to be used.

KNOWN ISSUES:

- Enabling scenery shadows results in some odd behaviour among the low-lying custom buildings. This is a limitation of the scenery objects with no workaround being found as yet.

- Unlike the FSX version of this scenery, this is intended to be used with the default mesh resolution for FS2004 only, as the mesh I use does not permit detailed resolution. Results may vary if higher resolution mesh is used. Anyone wishing to edit the flatten areas to accommodate higher resolution mesh may modify the enclosed file "ALBANY9.SBP" using Sbuilder version 2.05 (remember to respect the freeware copyrights if uploaded).
